Holy extremely long and emotionless goodbye Batman!
Not a lot to say that hasn’t been said. At least they stayed consistent and the series finale was just as horribly written and acted as they’d conditioned it to be.
None of those writers should ever find jobs again. And the drawn out ‘goodbye’ puts to shame the never ending LOTR ending scenes
Yup.
So much time wasted on, while visually pretty okay, needless, and emotionally weightless fight scenes. I actually found myself skipping past them, mostly Michael fighting in the matrix thing. Just seemed to be there for the sake of "LOOK HOW COOL THIS LOOKS!" and I was just trying to get past them.
They predictably tried to do the huge profound ending. However, the writers were simply not capable of going deeper than a FB post or bumper sticker. Quite sad. And then the future time jump was just.....pointless? Like, I get that they wanted to provide some closure, but it felt artificially and forcfully sentimentle and didn't actually add anything to either story or character.
It was odd, when they did the big everyone together hugging thing (not a spoiler, as you all could have predicted it) I realized I forgot about most of those characters because they were all sidelined when this went from an ensemble show to the Michael and Booker hour. Shame.
Also, I know it's a spoier, but I doubt anyone cares, but the brief member berry shots in Chronenberg's office annoyed me, as did his "real name."
Ugh. Glad this show is over. Such a god damn waste of an opportunity.
Here's hoping for SNW season 3!
