I think it's hilarious I'm still in, but I kind of expected to get through with The Scarecrow, this song is just too good. Shame about 425. :-\

I don't even have an epic lined up for this round, never thought I'll actually get this far. :lol

Wow, didn't expect to still be in either  ;D. Parama, can you give me a brief opinion on (20th century) classical music?

Normally I would've sent either Need or Dimension Act, but I think I've recommended both of them to Parama and he wasn't impressed, so they're out.

Guess this is going to be more difficult than I initially thought. I don't even have a lot of epics to choose from! :lol

Another fun fact: the 425's losing song in this round scored higher than any of my songs in the first four rounds. The highest score I've ever got there was 7.5. :lol

Alright, now that I'm back from work, I'll go pick some epic for you.

Hey, Parama, can you list your Top 5 epics here? One epic per band in the list please.

Also, hey, let's do preliminary hangman.

Tomislav: Redemption - At Day's End

Probably wrong but what the hell.

I haven't looked at the song title yet but that is probably correct since he sent redemption  :lol

also I'll do it when I get home, which will be when you are asleep most likely

also @ home to be fair I dunno what 20th century classical implies but "classical" is generally something that will make me turn away from something in general

Yep. It's probably contender for winning the survivor. My 4th favorite Redemption tune.

Well `classical music from the 20th century` is actually way to broad to really mean anything.  :P But I guess it implies more experimention and dissonance and also sometimes more focus on rhythm instead of melody like in a lot of older classical music.

Perhaps I should just send the piece to torture educate you  :lol

I'm kind of glad I'm already eliminated. I just looked up what options I would have, and it would be between post-rock, weird post-rock and a prog song that's somehow in my library but I never listened to.

have some epics or something

Dream Theater - A Change of Seasons (8.75)
Godspeed You! Black Emperor - Sleep (8.5)
Green Carnation - Light of Day, Day of Darkness (9)
Haken - Celestial Elixir (9.25)
Inter Arma - The Cavern (8.5)
Intronaut - The Reptilian Brain (8.75)
Ne Obliviscaris - Painters of the Tempest (8.5)
Obsidian Kingdom - Mantiis (does this count? irdc) (8.5)
Thy Catafalque - Molekularis Gepezetek (8.5)

these are like the only 9 in my entire library that i really like, apparently, like, a lot. only counting 15+ minute songs here
maybe uhh. the third track off Sgurr too? something like that. maybe that's #11 or so i dunno
tbh i didn't think about those numbers that much so you shouldn't either.
the point is i shouldn't be doing an epic round but here i am anyways
also evermind i actually don't remember a single thing about dimension act or need fwiw
and i've listened to thick as a brick like once and just remember it not being my thing but tbh i don't remember it well either. but jethro tull is just. an artist everyone already knows about. there's a few that are on the list just because of that, i know about them and if i ever wanted to get into them i don't really need a roulette entry to do it for me. i guess

edit: i only listened to the one need song also so idunnolol

also i listened to about 13 minutes or so of rite of spring so i can decisively say:

don't send this to me. it's in the same category as jazz, which is to say: "i can appreciate the talent it took to write/perform this but it does absolutely nothing for me"

I have enough prog rock epics in my library, probably more than ten I could send, but any of them will probably just get me eliminated. :lol Maybe I should just send At Day's End.

I'll send something in a few hours.

I can understand, I have that with some songs too. Glad you listened and saved me from getting a 1  :lol

Sent a song that's barely long enough but quite beautiful I think. Probably the most soft/mellow song I sent so far, I hope this does do something for you :azn:

However I look at it, I'm going to be eliminated anyway. So I'm going to send a song I've never sent before in the roulettes. Good luck to remaining participants in the finals.

Sent.

They're all under 20 minutes I think. Sapphire is 15-something, mine is 16-something and home said his song is barely long enough.
