Some original "proggy stuff"
« on: July 22, 2016, 12:08:40 AM »
Hello! I recently decided to put some time in and record some original music that I'd written in the past few months. I play the sax mainly, and really am not proficient enough at instruments like piano or guitar to record them, so I made a  lot of the tracks in FL studio using plugins and what not, so some of the tracks may sound a little sterile, however I really was just working with what I had.

It was a lot of fun making this album and even though it may not be the most professionally made record I hope you'll all enjoy! The album has a mix of Jazz, electronic, funk, progressive elements, and some other stuff.

Its available for free here on my bandcamp so I hope you'll check it out.

Thank you!

We need people like you in the industry.
Propositive, enthusiastic and ambitious.

Currently on the second track and sounding cool. Will update as I progress.
Was this, somehow influenced by the soundrack of the Rebuild of Evangelion films?

Thank you :)

However it was not, though I do love those films, perhaps it was and I just don't know it.

Glad you like! I really enjoyed making that song, I wanted to bring together progressive elements along with Jazz and Electronic influences

Listening through it now. You're right, the background music may not be "the most professionally made record", but in my opinion your sax-playing more than enough makes up for it. Great stuff!

Deja-Vu Bossa is my favorite so far. Nice lounge feel.

That track was a fun one, I essentially took the chords for the jazz standard Blue Bossa and messed with them until I had my own thing. I have a soft spot for tunes like that.

I made a new album recently. This one is a little "compositionally oriented." Normally I play sax on these but I decided to opt out of doing that for this record. This one was meant to be a concept album of sorts. There's a bit of a story here, although it's mostly just a silly idea. Maybe I'll go into greater detail about that later  ;)

Check it out! Hope you enjoy.
