The point is that Hollywood makes a lot MORE movies these days so there's going to be a higher percentage of drivel.

I don't know about percentage, but a higher quantity of drivel, sure. But also a higher quantity of good quality stuff too.

I'm not sure the first half of your sentence is correct, and the second half doesn't logically follow from the first.
