My conclusion is that no song from Visions make my Top 10, and that I prefer their more recent stuff (from The Mountain onwards).

Might have a serious re-listen through all their music to attempt a definitive top 10, I know a few songs that would end up in there but not even sure what the rest would be. They're a pretty consistent band, let's be honest.

Visions does little for me and Affinity is their definitive best album. All of the songs would fit my top 20. I'm not sure Visions would even show up except for Nocturnal Conspiracy.

So, I've listened through all the albums this afternoon, ranking the songs as I went along, and managed to make a top 10. Most of this came as much of a surprise to me, never really ranked individual songs. Usually just stick with attempting to rank the albums of bands. So anyway:

Controversial comments to follow. After listening through I've realised that I really like both Aquarius and Visions, more so than Affinity at this point. The Mountain is my favourite, I think, because of the vocal delivery of the whole band. There are some great vocal harmonies that elevate this album above everything else they have done. Affinity still has room to grow as it still hasn't had as many listens as all the rest. However, I'm not feeling as strongly towards it as a lot of other people. I appreciate the feel/sound they were going for, I really like it and do feel it sounds fresh. Do I like as much as their other albums? No, not at this point. Restoration is a nice listen but it's my least favourite, but that's probably due to it being an EP.

Fun fact: when 2015 Haken Survivor took place, I wasn't familiar with Aquarius enough, and I voted for Sun from the very first round because I just didn't realize how beautiful it is. Now it's tied with Aquarium and Celestial Elixir for my favourite song from the album.

I've ordered a 2CD mediabook edition along with The Theater Equation CD+DVD and Bluray from US InsideOut store. They said it will be shipped at June 22nd, so it's still a month from now on until I hear it I guess. I don't really want to get it by any other means, want to listen to the album with the physical copy in my hands.

I planned to buy it from our local record store but after I visited them three weeks in a row and they kept saying "it's going to appear in our store really soon" I gave up on that.

So I guess I wait. Thankfully I've got loads of other music to listen to in the meantime.
