Yes folks, do not adjust your monitors. About 3 months ago, I was hired on as a DJ to Phoenix Radio thanks to a connection they have into the MMORPG I've been playing for going on 3 years (Guild Wars 2). And yes Nick... I know we both have shows with similar names, but I couldn't help but tweak When Dream and Day Unite to serve MY purpose.

My purpose is this - to share music I either grew up with, love now, and/or have discovered recently. I don't plan to take requests starting out, but that could change in future shows.

The plan:

Three hours of mostly classic rock, prog rock, prog metal, SOME rap/hip hop (no Haterade pl0x), with chat interspersed in on mic breaks. So please - if you're near the 'net starting on this Friday--May 13th--stop on by the link up yonder, smash your mouse on the "Listen Live" button, and have a ball listening to my show. Feedback/constructive criticism is appreciated, and just having some of you fine folks listen would be a pleasure. Unlike Nick - we really don't have a "chat room" unless you use Teamspeak 3. You do not, however, have to have TS3 to tune in and listen.

Thanks in advance, and I hope some of you nice folks tune in! :heart

ETA:  US CT is United States Central time, regardless if we're on Daylight Stupid Time or not.

UPDATE:  As of the yesterday, I am now back with Phoenix Radio. Main show is now on Sunday nights from 7pm to 10pm US Central every Sunday, and a short 90 minute to 2 hour Music/Gamer Goof Off show will happen every other Friday from 9pm to 10:30/11pm US Central starting this coming Friday, August 3rd. My signature link has been updated as well.

I will try to stop by and listen. You play GW2. I played that game when it came out and maybe for a year until my guild died so I moved on to other games. I still miss being on Sanctum of Rall WvW when we were number 1 in the rankings.

Well since the show starts at 4 A.M. Saturday by my time, I think it's unlikely I will ever catch one of these.

I also played GW2 and left shortly after Heart of Thorns DLC. I probably should play it again though, it was pretty fun and I had a very nice cat charr.
This first band is Soen very cool swingy jazz fusion kinda stuff.

Heh - #1 in NA WvW is Beastgate.... errr, Blackgate now. Poor SoR... they're Tier 7 now. They've changed WvW up just a little bit, where lower population WvW servers are now paired with a higher population one - for example, I'm on Ehmry Bay server, and we're paired currently with Henge of Denravi.  BUT... servers now only matter in WvW, since "megaserver" has been in place since April of 2014. Guilds are also now no longer server-based as well, UNLESS the guild is a predominant WvW guild.

Um... anyway.... *GW2 geek moment* :lol

Ooo... yeah, the time difference would make it difficult if not impossible for you to tune in. That's cool though - I have 3 Charr characters and I want one more (I have a guardian problem lol).

Yep, I abandoned WvWvW after the first season with all those achievements introduced which brought a lot of new players that only cared about achievements and not about the actual war. Preferred PvE ever since. Leading those Frostgorge trains and organizing Marionette / Tri-Wurm runs when they were just introduced was lots of fun.

Now that I think about it, I really should start playing again. :lol

Congrats Deb! I have no computer but I'll see if one of my gaming consoles' browsers might work for tuning in.

The Frostgorge champ train is sadly almost non-existent, same with the old Queensdale champ train. They've done away with monthly achievements and have gone to a daily log-in reward system which is actually kind of cool. Took some getting used to but it's pretty sweet.

I'd say you should, but you're probably EU. I'm NA. :'(

Congrats Deb! I have no computer but I'll see if one of my gaming consoles' browsers might work for tuning in.

I'd apprecitate it, especially since the madness will continue later on today - same Bat-time, same Bat-channel!

You may wanna change "CDT" to just "CT" in the thread title to avoid confusion since I assume you'd still plan on doing your show at 8pm even during the six months of the year we're not on daylight savings.

I'm in the same boat - living in Europe can be inconvenient at times. :-\ I'm not really a gamer, but it'd be fun to tune in, and there's a nice selection of songs in the playlists. Any chance of podcasts, Deb?

With our license being the way that it is, I can only archive the breaks between songs when I speak. It kind of sucks too, because the mic breaks without the music kind of doesn't make a whole lot of sense because I've tied the two together. I'll see what I can do about maybe changing that, but since I'm not the station owner and license holder... I'm not sure how much I can do on this.

This program looks like something I want to listen to, with the Weird Al, DT, JLB, all the '80s and '90s rock... I love this! Would you mind bumping this up on Fridays just to give us a heads up before you go on? I have a very short memory span and will need a reminder.

Great Styx pick this week, as well.
I don't want MP playing with DT unless they were making a drummer change. If they let MM go and bring back MP, then fine, but no guest appearance please.
WELP.

Did very well, even though I was up against the Olympics.

You had a  better playlist than the opening ceremony
Winger would be better!

This is the first I see this, congrats Debra!
Great playlists, I like how Dream Theater are always present! Do you pick the playlists song by song or is it more of a chill process with the staff? last minute thing or do you plan and cross songs out, etc?
I wouldn't want somebody with 18 kids to mow my damn lawn, based on a longstanding bias I have against crazy fucks.
