I've been listening to a lot of my CD collection ever since I bought a car around 8 months ago. I keep on changing the CD's i. a CD wallet every other week or so and I'm having lots of fun listening to records I haven't heard in ages. Here's a couple of things I listened to last week:

Beardfish - Sleeping in Traffic Part Two
Damn, this album is lots of fun. Especially the title track. I could remember lots of it, some things that get permanently stuck in my head are various parts of Cashflow and the title track. Great stuff!

Flying Colors - s/t
This album is way better than I remembered, some great songs on here. The vocal lines in Infinite Fire are amazing, guitar work is really good and the song-writing is very fitting for the overall mood and flow of the album.[/b]

The Dear Hunter - Act Two: The Meaning Of, And All Things Regarding Ms. Leading
Without a single doubt in my mind the best Dear Hunter album. Everything about this album is good; from the apparently rawness, to some of the best songs the band has done. This album features at least three 'goosebump tracks' and that's a remarkable feat. I love this record so much.

Flying Colors - Second Nature
After the debut album, I hoped this album would somehow strike with me as well, but it is unfortunately as I remembered it. A dull, boring record, that tries too hard to be more pretentious than the first, while the strength of the first was in not being overly complicated, with good song-writing. This album seems to be the counterpart to that. It does have some good songs (Peaceful Harbor comes to mind), but most are overwrought and stretched out too long. Bummer.
Hey dude slow the fuck down so we can finish together at the same time.

Defecto - Nemesis: Tons of catchy stuff on here, the softer and more melodically driven vocal passages are probably the weaker parts on the album and sometimes the extreme amount of synths thrown into the music is a bit grating, but the straight up gritty aggressive instrumentals and vocals are good. I think they're at their best when they channel more of their Metallica side rather than the proggier stuff. Not heavily impressed by them but I'm seeing them as support act of Persefone next month, who knows.

Allegaeon - Proponient for Sentience: Also good but not great. Album is overall too long and a bit samey, and the last track is oddly different and kind of cringy. But overall it has great moments and on average is just good.

Deftones - White Pony: Should've returned to this more often way earlier, damn, this one grew on me a lot. Might actually be my favourite Deftones album now.

Three Trapped Tigers - Silent Earthlings: Some of the best instrumental music I've heard. It's dreamy, proggy, pleasant, technical and doesn't sound too close to the standard bunch of bedroom musicians/modern instrumental progrock that you hear all the time. Way more synth-driven too with a couple retro 80's sounding moments. Best discovery at Complexity Fest this year for sure (I'd say SikTh but I was already familiar with some of their music).

Damn, this album  :heart :hefdaddy :heart :hefdaddy

I just spun the first couple of tracks on youtube cause the cover always intrigued me.  Not my type of music but something about this is really unique and has a great atmosphere.  The lyrics seem like you can relate to them too.  Probably not gonna become a new fav, but I'm interested in hearing more of it, very nice.

Yea it's really clicked for me big time. I've gotta thank Parama for sending me a song off this in my roulette. I've been aware of the band for years but I probably would never have gotten around to listening. Give it a few more spins, it's worth it.

I should probably give their latest a few more plays. I probably listened at least 4 times but it didn't do a great deal for me.
