out of all the bolsters albums i've checked out so far, it's the one with the lowest individual song score that i end up liking the most, somehow? i dunno, the style here appeals to me a bit more, maybe because there's a rock edge to a lot of their songs. will definitely at least relisten. not like, huge on it yet but i dug it a fair bit
while this is fine enough it feels a bit overshadowed by the ongoing concept for me. and the metal seems a bit... tame, the vocals not quite up my alley. i dug them on a single song basis and this will probably get a relisten anyways but i'm not feeling it that hard as of right now
good to know untrue isn't a fluke and their style of metal does lean towards that great balance of melody and dissonance that that song had on display, heck, i don't know if untrue is even among my favorites after a full listen here. but yeah, vocal style again not hugely my thing but this is solid enough overall that i'll definitely at least come back to it even if i don't purchase
this is definitely way too long, though stylistically pretty solid. some heavier moments i wasn't quite expecting and i feel like campfire may have been a bit underscored even with the bump i already gave it, but yeah, maybe if this was cut down a bit more i'd be more into it but i still did like it on first listen
will note that some of these that -could- get relistens probably won't for the upcoming order since i'm already buying stuff way later than i would want to be even speaking right now, blah. but i do plan to give most of these albums a fair shot in time even if it carries over to 2018
