Any good? Didn't even know this album existed! I'm hardly a big fan but I LOVED Congregation of the Damned, cracking album.

Their best. I recommend getting the version with the bonus song When The Day Is Done.

This has been where most of my recent "spins" have gone. Misterwives is Indie Pop, didn't know that was really a thing. I bought the album based on hearing a newer song at the gym. I have bought individual popular songs for awhile, and this is the first modern full pop album I've bought that I can recall. Of course being labeled "indie," it is more pop in style vs being a big deal.

Highly enjoyable to me.

it's pretty solid prog metal but at the same time it's kind of, forgettable
as in, i kind of zoned out during the last track & also the talky track is cheesy as hell (edit: also the last few minutes too i hate this kind of thing lol)
i think it all sounds nice enough though yes sure

This officially gets my vote for most underrated Alice Cooper album. Shame it's unlikely we'll hear any of it done live.

I love the '80-'83 era of Alice. His new album reminds me a lot of it.

O-554, have you ever heard this?

If you like DaDa, it's a must listen.
Quote from: wkiml on June 08, 2012, 09:06:35 AMwould have thought the same thing but seeing the OP was TAC i immediately thought Maiden or DT related
Quote from: Buddyhunter1 on April 22, 2023, 05:54:45 PMTAC got a higher score than me in the electronic round? Honestly, can I just drop out now? :lol

gotta be honest this was a bit dull actually. when the knot unties is probably the best track and even it isn't really that good, i probably overrated it in my roulette if i'm being honest. but yeah this is just super boring post-metal lol, not gonna bother relistening

Crow

this is pretty solid, i guess it feels a bit meandering and maybe overly simple at times? i dunno a few of these tracks didn't do a ton for me. it sort of feels like it's lacking the atmosphere the song i was sent in my roulette had, at least some of the time. i'm not huge on it but i will probably relisten regardless

Genesis - The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway

Crow

gonna be honest i turned this off halfway, it's nice enough music but it doesn't really grab me in any way at all & i found this pretty dull tbh

And Brent, wtf was that video and why did I watch it to the end?😀

kind of bad album cover but damned if this isn't some good stuff. solid black/death metal with a good sense of dynamics and a ton of orchestral stuff happening in there too, it's well-integrated enough to not feel like a gimmick either. particularly like anti-life saviour, which has a genuine good use of spoken word samples & is just all-around great

You like hairy chests and awesome falsetto?  ;D

No idea who they are - South American band having a bit of fun with the Manowar vibe it seems  :lol

That's the book on neo-classical metal closed right there. Did anyone contribute anything else to the genre after this? Yngwie was god. Shame he became a clown.
Jason Becker and Marty Friedman. Becker especially with his solo album, but they also released two albums as Cacophony. Their singer was pretty shit, but the guitar.... oooooh the guitar.
My latest concept album "III: The Sparrow & The Architect" is out now!
"IV: Timber" Coming Fall 2024!

I had high hopes for Cacophany but as soon as the vocals came in there was nothing worth listening to. Great players though, and I have most of their output.

I'm not sure Jason added anything to what Yngwie had brought, but he certainly upped the ante. Apart from the loss to him and his family, it's awful to think of the music we've been denied because of his disease.

I accept that Marty brought that oriental scale stuff to the party. I love his playing more when he stops being metal but he is one of the greats. I have an album of his with Hawaii on vinyl, before the shredder stuff.
