I've been really enjoying The Assassination of Julius Caesar the past few days. I also put ATGCLVLSSCAP on in the background while doing some stuff but it never really grabbed my attention.

Now listening to this absolute masterpiece, which turned 50 years old today  :heart

Childhood's End, Shadows of the Sun and Blood Inside next :corn

Most of my music has been Hypno5e lately because it's my latest obsession, basically djent + mathcore + melancholic rock. Despite doing terrible in Parama's roulette I'm grateful for it because without it I would probably not yet have discovered this amazing band, it's probably gonna become one of my top 10 favourite bands sooner or later, not a single bad album. Ulver posted 10 free digital download codes on Facebook for the Live at Roadburn album and I happened to catch it just in time, so I've been spinning that a lot, I think all the songs they play are from Childhood's End but I'm not sure. Really good album.
people on this board are actual music fans who developed taste in music and not casual listeners who are following current fashion trends and listening to only current commercial hits.

Despite doing terrible in Parama's roulette I'm grateful for it because without it I would probably not yet have discovered this amazing band, it's probably gonna become one of my top 10 favourite bands sooner or later, not a single bad album.
I'm also grateful for Parama's roulette because I'm listening a lot of new bands in this period to find something for the next submissions, and I'm also rediscovering bands that I haven't listened for ages.
I've heard something of Hypno5e on youtube after your submission and it's interesting.

These are some of recent listens. I'm continuing to listen the Cardiacs discography and I'm loving every album. My favourite remains On Land And In The Sea even if Guns is close to it. Savage Sinusoid is probably my favourite album of the year at the moment, even if new Caligula's Horse, Leprous, The Contortionist and Thumpermonkey album will likely take its spot.
I had to listen many times to Meta by Car Bomb to like it but I'm glad to have persisted because it's great.
The Unwinding Hours is a project of two ex members of Aereogramme (one of them is Iain Cook of the band Chvrces) and the debut is a great post-rock/alternative rock album. I'm currently checking out their second and last album and Aereogramme hoping to find someting at the same level.

Oops, been traveling for the past two weeks so only yesterday finished listening to the stuff scheduled for two weeks ago :lol But I've also jammed some of these more than once and relistened others so  :natalieportman:

Dear: Yeah new Boris is very solid, there's the sludgy and doomy-droney tracks, some fast-faced stoner ones, some ambient passages and then there's fucking Dystopia -Vanishing Point / 何処へ-, one of the very best songs of the year with such huge build-up and climax.

The Bends: Uuhhhh this is ok I guess?

Promised Land: I'm not a big 'Ryche fan beyond O:M so didn't know what to expect. But this is certainly darker and a bit more experimental in the chord progressions and overall songwriting, and it works for me! Will surely relisten.

The Colour of Spring: I've been jamming this a lot lately, and it's definitely my favorite Talk Talk record - it's just a very very unique pop album that's full of solid arrangements and none of 80s production pitfalls, instead opting for a very organic sound. Funny how they'd later go full experimental and basically set some of the foundations for Post-Rock. Will definitely send this on roulettes... if there are any in the future :lol I may have to run one, even if short, mmnnn...

The Optimist: This is... solid I guess. Kinda not very memorable save a couple songs but still a pleasant listen.

Talkie Walkie: Been spinning this one and Moon Safari a lot too, am definitely gonna delve deeper into this group.

in•ter a•li•a: It's ok I guess, fans will definitely appreciate it. Production really kills the immense energy this album has, it's too compressed.

Relaxer: On the one hand it's more varied and interesting than An Awesome Wave imo, on the other it's still as inconsistent. Good thing it became my 666th rating on RYM :2metal:

My collection is very light on with Alice aside from From The Inside, the Kane era..+ Trash/Hey Stoopid.  Tonight is one of the few times I have listened to a 70's Alice album start to finish (outside of Billion Dollar Babies which I had on cassette decades ago) and I had an idea that this is the one I'd like best and I thought it was very strong.  Most of the sampling I have done outside of these albums hasn't made me determined to buy much.

Pretty much how I feel about Alice. I'm not much of a 70s guy at all, KISS and Rush aside really. Welcome To My Nightmare album is ok but I'm not a big fan. His best of is fine and I like the odd live album - I bought Alice Cooper Show on lap back in the day. The Kane era is hit and miss too but Trash and Hey Stoopid with Last Temptation thrown in are about it for me.
