i had planned to listen to this like, right before home sent them in my roulette and if i had i would've banned them on the spot because this is absolutely my jam. apparently there's a genre named after the label they're on called "swancore" and if so it sounds right up my alley. i need to check out their previous album too but i am definitely getting at least one disc from these guys in my next order, yeah. tbh one listen of this was way more convincing than like 6 listens of the one song i was sent
i feel like they're kinda like, hirsch effekt lite though (not a bad lite just like volume-wise) which might also bias me because the hirsch effekt is basically my favorite band lately, lol
oh also i should
hacride: this is definitely not as good as lazarus but there's definitely a lot to like. the folky cover song whatever it's called is really great and there's a lot of jams in the back half of the album (tracks 7 and 10 especially). the first few tracks are maybe a bit too core-y for me but i like them regardless, it's just a solid album on the whole. not as atmospheric or memorable as lazarus but still gladi got it
mord'a'stigmata: okay this is very much up my alley, yes. i think the quieter moments are actually my favorites but there's a lot of great metal here too and the album is just a really cohesive 45ish minutes of atmospheric black metal meets post-metal in the best way. definitely gonna pick up their latest release too, i remember only slightly preferring this one but finding both quite good and yeah, this is quite good
(waning): a bit varied in quality; i like tracks 1 and 3 a fair bit, really like tracks 6 and 7, kinda dig tracks 4 and 5, and am pretty meh on track 2. but i mean on the whole this is good though yes. honestly kind of really similar to the flight of sleipnir though and i don't think quite as good as their release from this year. but man those last two tracks really are quite good, lotta emotion there
okay now i'm done
