Last week:
Souvlaki: I'm not into shoegaze like My Bloody Valentine and Alcest, so just gave this a listen because it's an iconic album and that jazz. And I actually kinda liked it?!? Very dreamy, layered, and lots of emotions and none of the vacuum-cleaners. Watched Pitchfork's documentary on this album and damn, poor kids. Gonna relisten definitely.
Frengers: More roulette stuff. Yup this is very nice. Will revisit.
Birds: Even more roulette stuff, Fluffy (RIP) sent me Ruby Nights, and the album is kinda like that and not really half and half. Kinda like the soft chamber folk mom would listen to but actually well-written. Kinda curious how she seems to be only known in New Zealand
Dopesmoker: I think I'd definitely love this if I was high, but since drugs are for losers, I guess I'll just have to appreciate it as it is. Many awesome sections but damn this one takes quite some time to start getting interesting. Curious how it wil grow on me.
Metamorph: Roulette stuff part 3. Is this like some kind of prog but with a pop-ish approach and lots of cool synths? I like it.
Everything Goes Numb: Roulette Stuff IV: The Return of the Fluffy. I really despite all the lame generic-ass ska bands from here, but i'm diggin this! Pretty creative, well-written stuff.
Be: Roulette st- yeah. Not really a fan of this band but got Iter Impius and was pretty cool so why not trying this one. Hey, it's not half bad! Glad Daniel's annoying vocal noises and almost-beatbox-rhythms aren't really here, and there's quite a good amount of folk ballads. Except for the bad spoken parts, I'm liking it.
In Rainbows: Wtf this really bored me before but now I think it's kind of awesome? Damn I need to listen to more of these guys.
Ceremonials: I love Seven Devils but damn the rest of this album is quite boring
Axe to Fall: Fuck, this is awesome. Heavy and angry as hell but so well-written and even with a ballad. I need more Converge.
Holy Fire: First two tracks = awesome. The rest = meh.
Finally We Are No One: Really lovely album, slowly getting into the more electronic, instrumental tracks. Wished there was more stuff like this. Will eventually try their previous record.
The Great Misdirect: Dunno how many listens I've given to this one but still haven't properly digested it lel Excellent stuff tho.
Kind of Blue: First two tracks are awesome, and the rest ain't bad at all. I'll very slowly get into jazz I guess.
Automatic for the People and Boxer: Yeah, really not my thing at all.
