Had the first Shotgun Messiah on vinyl. Didn't rock my world but was ok. Didn't bother with the second one until recently and really enjoyed it.

Queen - A Night at the opera

Getting into Queen over the last month or so. This album is nothing short of brilliant.

I played it myself for the first time in a long time about a month ago. I was never huge into Queen, but my wife is, and has the catalog. Such a GREAT record. Amazing, really.

As you know I love them - the debut made my DTF Top 50.   Harry Cody should've been bigger.   Their third album Violent New Breed is one of the few albums that I literally tossed in the bin.

Nice Hath (all of em , although I'm a bit iffy on Tambu)

If only they would remix/remaster The Robe ............ ::)    I reckon everyone who has it would buy an improved version as the production almost ruins an immense album.

I like the first couple of tracks (I love I Will Remember), but haven't gotten into it beyond that. I'm all over the place when it comes to Toto though.
Only King could mis-spell a LETTER.
Yep. I think the only party in the MP/DT situation that hasn't moved on is DTF.

Well?  Even though I can probably guess your review.  ;D

Also, I second you on the Robe, amazing songs but a remix and remaster would do wonders.

:)

Well it's quality from start to finish and the production is fantastic (almost Mood Swings level)  but for me , even though it's clearly better that the cookie cutter stuff we see everywhere and has the odd moment of brilliance,  it lacks that hugely memorable song. Compared to their intricate earlier material , chock full of memorable melodies , it seems pedestrian but very few bands as "mature" as these guys are releasing material to compare with their prime so in that context it's a strong effort.   It needs another listen but at the moment I would say low 80's.
