Nocturnes and Requiems: This album rules. Pretty straightforward stuff, but so badass that I don't care all that much. Jake Dreyer is a beast of a guitar player (shame that he'll soon be wasting his talents in Iced Earth) - definitely recommended to any fans of Nevermore.
Fables of the Sleepless Empire: Definitely Unexpect's best. They strike just the right balance between being crazy and not going overboard. Unfed Pendulum is so good.
Hegaiamas: Except for the spoken word track, this is a really good album. Nothing as immediately captivating like Lifeknot and Mother Madness on Orvam, but crazily consistant. Take away the final couple minutes of spoken word, and the title track is probably my favourite Need song.
In the Passing Light of Day: I've gushed enough about this album, so suffice to say that this is still my favourite album of this year. It's not quite perfect, but damn close to it, and the three epics are all superb.
In Glorious Times: What Unexpect would sound like if they were less metal and even more weird. Miles ahead of Of Natural History, and a beast of an album. Angle of Repose, Ossuary and Salt Crown are my favourites, but the whole album is a really interesting listening experience.
Communication Lost: I dig this melancholic vibe throughout. It's pretty simple musically, but still a very rewarding listen. The vocals are great throughout.
