Yep. Listening to Octahedron now and after I'm done with that, I'll have listened to the entire The Mars Volta discography :lol (The Bedlam in Goliath was yesterday though, and I didn't listen to the debut EP either)

Ranking time:

1. Frances the Mute
2. Deloused in the Comatorium
3. Amputechture
4. The Bedlam in Goliath
5. Noctourniquet
6. Octahedron

I'll admit I don't like Octahedron nearly as much as the other 5, but it's still a great album. Man I love TMV

The Who - Who's Next

.......for the first time    :omg:
Huh, I could almost swear you told me that album was banned when I participated in your roulette :neverusethis:

Maybe I did and that would be quite valid as I had the album , just hadn't played it and know the more popular songs  :P ;D
Fair enough  :lol

@Sacul, I'm going to see Bonobo in March with my girlfriend as she's a big fan. I don't even really know any of their music, any recommendations on where to start?
This is my first time listening to them, so maybe this album? Seems to their most popular one. Also, did you end up showing her my list? Just curious :P

Holy shit!!

This is awesome. I (wrongly) assumed this was going to be straight up technical death metal!! There is sax in here, Devin Townsend style operatic vocals and melodic guitar work. To the guys whose roulettes I'm participating in, prepare to get some of this soon. Can't believe a friend recommended this to me like a year ago and I'm only just getting around to it.  I'm red faced  :blush

@Sacul, I just went ahead and downloaded Black Sands and The North Borders, I'll report back later  :corn

Nice Paul - I always liked the opener on that.  I remember reading an interview where Mason says the album was demos that the label didn't have permission to release.  If memory serves David Prater is listed as producer.  My CD is stashed away somewhere.

Actually more enjoyable than I expected - very trip-hop-like, but pretty refined. So good the whiny lyrics aren't present here. I could really see myself growing to love some of these songs.

Cameron Diaz goes alright - bit of an animal in bed.

Cameron Allen on the other hand was good - not essential but a few nice tracks in the Greg Howe vein.  I think you would like it.

For once that was a deliberate typo

Yea, it's nice when you have preconceptions of what an album will sound like and then it completely blows you away. This was unexpected and I'll be spinning this a lot I think.

Somewhere around here i have UFO @ Starwood Ballroom 1976 Tim - let me know if it's of interest and I will check the sound quality.  I normally wouldn't bother if it wasn't very good but you never know.

I think back in the day, I had the boot on cassette.  Not sure I have a proper set of files on it. Of course I'd be interested.
