it's alright though i can't say it's really my thing either, but i don't mind it. may like it more if i decide to revisit it, which i probably will, since there's some cool stuff here

Yeah it's not an emotional rollercoaster or anything, but a very pleasant album yes. The other high rated album is probably Black Earth - my recommendation is be patient with it, it's slower and more minimalist, but also darker and heavier.

If you want some bohren with feels, maybe go with Piano Nights, but it's kinda one-dimensional imo. :P

i like this quit a bit actually. not exactly the most original but there's a lot of cool instrumentation and decent power behind this as well. some really cool bass moments especially. might try and pick this one up to fill out my current set

kinda cool sound but doesn't really do a ton for me. the last track is pretty interesting though.
doomy metal stuff never seems to do as much for me i guess, but i may revisit it

1. this cover kinda sucks
2. this is pretty solid stuff. kind of a lot to take in but they have some interesting weirdness going on alongside solid metal. i'd have to relisten to this to decide if i wanted it though, which i probably won't do atm/for my current haul, so

listened to about half an hour of black earth. it's just too spacious and empty for my tastes i guess. with slower, more ambient music i really prefer stuff that has a lot more texture and density to it, like hammock and eluvium tend to, i guess

Usually every New Year's Eve, I pop in a Live DVD.  Instead, I'm going to listen to my top five albums of 2016.  Here's the order in which I will listen to them from left to right.

Circus maximus The Havoc. Very good album, great vocals.

Chicago's albums of Terry Kath's era.  Ya, quite a different style.
With all respect, sincerely yours

Aye, in general I tend to that as well - I guess the band's very unique style and sound kinda makes it up for me. Not an album for everyone. Maybe you'd like their last album, has its share of feels and textures. Check this song, that sax is heartbreaking.

Yea, I'm quite liking this. I'm pretty picky with progressive death metal, but this is how I like it. Props to WebRaider for sending it in my roulette  :tup

This is really nice, especially So Come Back, I am Waiting is even better in the context of the album

Some really evoking atmospheres, not too sure about some of the goblin grunts, I might get used to them sometime...

The Cars - The Cars

On of the records I was able to snag from my parents and it plays wonderfully. Also this is a really great album, glad I finally got around to listening to it.

this is pretty solid too but definitely inferior to lifewoven. too much of a focus on piano + the female vocals, feels like there's less of the cool instrumental chemistry as a result. still has its moments but it didn't grab me nearly as often.

so yeah gotta figure out if i can find a physical copy of lifewoven now lol rip

update: there are literally no physical copies of lifewoven atm &&&& bridging realms was on sale on their store so guess who just bought the latter
i'll get lifewoven at some point for sure though, i do like it more

also also

found Indukti - S.U.S.A.R. for a good price on ebay so I snatched that up too
now my divisible-by-three set of albums has been destroyed
and i still need to find obscure sphinx - void mother because wow i want it
which would make 20 if i got it...

maybe i'll throw in that flaming row album too just for good measure, dunno. or that primordial album.
