probably one of the better splits i've listened to, doesn't really stand out on its own but makes for nice background music and seems pretty solid. plus it's spectral lore on half of it and that's a good start already. last track was a pretty nice ambient piece too, dug it.

i need to check out a mare cognitum album sometime...

I haven't listened to this in a while so train threatened to murder me

I also realize I haven't done a post on the last three albums in my last purchase so

alcest - kodama: it's totally fine but not particularly noteworthy and doesn't have any songs as good as ecailles pt 1 or summers glory
cobalt - gin: feels like it runs out of momentum in the second half but it's still good. probably not as good as eater of birds though
elder - dead roots stirring: I think I prefer Lore since it's a bit faster paced but this album is probably more diverse, it's a good listen for sure

Really solid post-metal. Not on the level of my favourites, but can't complain about this one. Shame I already finished my 2016 list.

it's alright but i don't find it as interesting as mirage
though both are too damn long lol.
may or may not relisten, dunno. neither stands out as particularly strong but mirage can be a "maybe" purchase for now i guess

this feels a lot more cohesive as an album than familiars, and also pretty emotionally potent.
i'll probably get both albums tbh, just need to decide which to get first
