probably too techy for my tastes but it has its moments. madness opus and apex are both pretty cool tracks.
only know about this bcuz it's where the east of the wall bassist went to but the bass is really low on this album so wasted potential right there

The Flower Kings - Space Revolver

Glass Hammer - Chronometree.
This 2000 album is from the band that Jon Davison was vocalist with before joining Yes. He's not on this album, but it does feature Arjen Lucassen on lead guitar. I'm surprised Glass Hammer don't get mentioned more on this forum.

Grey Lady Down - Forces
1995 neo-prog. Very much in the vain of the Pallas' debut album The Sentinel and to a lesser degree, the first 2 Marillion albums (Script... and Fugazi). Don't think I've ever seen this band mentioned on this forum before. I'm sure there would be many here who would appreciate them though.

Wow this is heavy. It was among Tommy Giles' top albums of 2016. Interesting, he mostly listens to super mellow music and most of the bands that inspire him are way softer. This might be the most agressive album I've heard all year :lol
people on this board are actual music fans who developed taste in music and not casual listeners who are following current fashion trends and listening to only current commercial hits.

I'm not fan of Behemoth but I like that album. Especially Blow your trumpets, Gabriel and Ora Pro Nobis Lucifer (that breakdown is the best part of the album). And vocalist sounds so good, much better than on anything else I heard from them.

I've been meaning too check this out since it was released. I have a couple of Behemoth albums but I'm not a massive fan or anything. This got such good reviews though that I thought I might persevere.

Tim, what's that one all about? Looks cool

It's a new 2016 release that I've seen favorable reviews on Bravewords and Metal Reviews.

It sounds like an old speed metal album (1981-ish) with some smooth Maiden/Lizzy style guitars.  It sounds kind of primitive tbh, but half way through I felt this big smile on my face. A big time throwback to the style of Exciter, Raven, KEA era Metallica. I think you'd like it.

would have thought the same thing but seeing the OP was TAC i immediately thought Maiden or DT related

But yeah, I'd agree, too many tracks, and some of them pretty forgettable.

listened to this again. it's kinda cool but also kinda samey. also that album cover is reeeally boring tbh

it's like, kinda like alcest, but with more djent-y style cleans, and more technical? it's like, the blackgaze version of skyharbor's guiding lights

Yea I've been listening to this and Meta quite a lot recently and both albums are climbing my rankings for this year. I really dig this album but yea, that album cover??? Don't really know what they were thinking, it's terrible!!

the album cover just gives off this "bland, uninteresting" image, i dunno why, the colors i guess

these guys opened for the ocean and were kinda okay
this album is a bit too core-y for me though
and i noticed this thing where they get stuck in grooves for a minute at a time, but it's always some boring chuggy groove? like why
so yeah

i remember some AAL influence but that's not really here so maybe it's on their new album this year?

It actually fits the music perfectly, the album has pretty summer-y feel to it. Also, there's no such thing as djenty vocals, but "blackgaze version of Guiding Lights" is still pretty accurate ;)
