Been listening a lot to this while studying lately. I think it's my 3th or 4th favourite album of them, I really love the electronic influences and the darker more haunting atmospheres.

another one from sacul's list thing

i think this is... pretty fine, probably really good if i relistened to it a bunch but. doesn't really stand out much, it's just very pleasant the whole way through. not actually a lot of metal on this it feels like, the last 15 minutes especially i think had no metal at all (but it was still good)

will have to see. i'll consider it for now at the very least but not high on the list

Same in Australia - you need to be a damn good researcher out here to find anything aside from the biggest international artists ............in rock anyway , there's plenty of other shite to go around :lol

I have heard some theories on that but in deference to our Canadian friends I will  :censored  :lol

Been on an 80's Oz Rock binge today:

INXS - s/t
The Triffids - Born Sandy Devotional
Hoodoo Gurus - Stoneage Romeos
Icehouse - Primitive Man
The Church - Of Skins and Hearts.

Managed to see the first 3 live at different times in the 80s. Passed up the chance to see The Church for 5 bucks at a college gig back in 1982. Not one of my smartest choices that year. INXS supporrting Men at Work at the Adelaide University O Ball in 1982 was a very cool gig. :hat

They filled in as support for Queensryche out here when Teramaze piked at the last minute.  Their album is okay but they were pretty crap live.

Not 100% struck on the singer but not a bad album. Will save for those days when my football team throw away a two goal lead with 10 mi utes left. Like Sunday  >:(

Yeah, I like this. Wouldn't listen to it all the time but there's a place in my life for this. For experts in the field, where do I go next?

I'd just go straight into Act V. It's like a darker counter part to Act IV.

Or start from the beginning of the Acts. Act IV is my favourite album of theirs hands down. I'd maybe even suggest just repeated listens of this album  :heart :heart :heart

Haven't heard about this. I checked out a short clip on Youtube and it sounded like it was going more for the jazzy Toto sound rather than more straight up melodic rock (I'm too used to the Frontiers stuff these days :lol ). Any good?

i do need to get this at some point i guess but it's not really high priority. compared to the other releases i have from these guys this one just always comes off as "fine, but nothing special"

anthropocentric isn't a huge step up either tbh but it's still got enough good stuff on it. and precambrian would be great if it dropped the first disc entirely (which i just don't listen to anymore rip). and pelagial is still awesome and fantastic
