Bat out of Hell

Back In Black

Holy Diver

Albums so great I don't need to post the artists

Yep :tup

In the same vein, my playlist for today:

Dark Side of the Moon

Aqualung

Big Hath

Lowdz

Nice as ever Big H, though the only Death album I can listen to is TSoP.
Great Y&T album, featured in my top 50.

Crow

best described as "an album that happens"
maybe it will grow on me with relistens? but there's just nothing noteworthy about this album even if it's all kind of solid, it doesn't provide me with anything i can't get better elsewhere

Crow

never really warmed up to these vocals and tbh i didn't even recognize the one song here i did know because this has just not stuck with me at all

Train of Naught

Now + yesterday

Mercenary: Wow this is good. Only knew Redefine Me before but the album is on par with that
Nothing More: Definitely better than I remember it being. Just an all around solid prog/alternative metal release

I remember buying this and Metallica's TBA on the same day, and thinking what a huge dip for both bands. But both albums have aged magnificently!
Quote from: wkiml on June 08, 2012, 09:06:35 AMwould have thought the same thing but seeing the OP was TAC i immediately thought Maiden or DT related
Quote from: DTwwbwMP on October 10, 2024, 11:26:46 AMDISAPPOINTED.. I hoped for something more along the lines of ADTOE.

So I wasn't a Helloween fan back in the day. I heard a few singles and wrote them off as a Maiden clone with an annoying singer  :omg:, at a time I was losing the love for the real Maiden.
Now when I went back and had a listen properly a few years ago, I enjoy them a lot, especially the Keepers albums and Dark Ride.
I knew from back in the day that this album was pretty universally slated but when I played it I really liked it.

i'm dumb and had this on while doing writeups for the top 25 games thread so i kind of missed a lot of it but i also intended to get it anyways so whatever. because i could definitely use more folky black metal.

Crow

didn't even finish this, just too bored. the title track is still cool but the rest of this is the power metal i don't care for, or the power ballad that sounds like a late 90's rock ballad on the radio like aaugh no thanks

:lol

The fact you actually checked this album is just astonishing and hilarious at the same time. :lol

But you said you didn't even finish it, therefore it's not a full album listen.

cobalt: i got basically what i expect which was some rockin' black/sludge metal. i dunno if this is better than slow forever. probably since it doesn't go on quite as long? i still have gin to listen to anyways and i'm excited for it 'cause this is good
gorguts: the first track and the last two tracks i like a lot and the orchestral piece in the middle is cool too but the rest of this is leaving me a bit cold atm. it all blends together a bit too much i guess. but damn that opener and that closer, both awesome
insomnium: i don't know what to say about this beyond "it's really solid and pleasant and i enjoy it". it's not particularly unique and it's not something i really jam to but i enjoy listening to it regardless, good stuff
