i sort of feel like i'm doing this one a disservice just by listening to it, it's such a dense and massive album and there's just so much going on, and i like it a lot, but i feel like i'm just not worthy. for some reason or other. i dunno lol

Avenged Sevenfold -The Stage. Holy shit it's good  :omg:

Just listened to the song..............possibly the first A7X song I have listened to properly ............on your recommendation.   Really liked it although many parts of the song (melody/phrasing) remind me of other songs that , for the moment , I cannot place.   Especially the start of the verses .

Anyway- I liked it enough to check the album out.

Holy shit

 :)

Half way through the A7X and I really want to love it (as it has some cool , unique ideas in the music which are so sparse in a lot of new releases that I check out) but I'm not sure I'm going to make it through until the end with that voice  :-[     It was alright for a couple of songs but grating on me a bit now..hopefully he starts straining his vocal chords a bit less as we progress.

I have no idea who is supposed to have influenced them but I hear some Extreme influences here and there.

i listened to this whole album and i still wouldn't be able to tell you what this band sounds like
so it's kind of incohesive, yeah, but in a fun way, i kinda dig it. may listen to it again or may check their debut since that seems to be the most well-received in general from what i've seen

Rapid Eye Movement: Solid Riverside album, doesn't feel too different from SLS, but it's pretty enjoyable.
Love in the Time of Science: My gf hates this one because she thinks it's a Bjork copycat, but that's quite a stretch - also I prefer this to any of ther albums anyways  :lol
Demon Days: Yeah this is really awesome. Kinda weak on the last couple of tracks, but it's quite consistent and very varied. Love it.

Storm Corrosion: Never delved much on this album because how much Drag Ropes bored me, but  turns out it's quite an enjoyable record. Music both beautiful and strange.
Part the Second: Ye this is definitely better than Bath. No growls nor blast beats, just wonderful chamber instrumentation and great atmosphere. I think you'd dig this one a lot, Parama.
Saviour: Basically 90s Anathema crossed with Portishead. Although this would sound like my wet dream, this was released in 2002 and already sounds many years old and dated. And half the songs are boring, so...

And the Circus Leaves Town...: I think the word that best describes this album is: uninspired. Has neither the catchyness nor the groove nor the intensity of Welcome to Sky Valley.
Aquaria: Interesting R&B, kinda trip-hop album.
Casualties: Yeah this album is great but probably too long.

solid enough black metal but not really something i imagine myself returning to. doesn't really do anything to stand out honestly, it's just "fine"
dunno, i have enough standard black metal by now, i like the ambitious stuff the most lately

That's probably my favourite Biffy album, although I wouldn't consider myself a huge fan. I had an ex girlfriend who was obsessed with that album so I listened to it a lot when it came out.

At the end of the day, the songs just aren't very good. Nothing really comes to life. I like the last track though.
