Both for the first time! So much Jørn Lande and Bob Catley... Not that that's a bad thing!

And thank God there's a mention of computers on this Ayreon album.
But album name is binary so :neverusethis:

Yeah, but I was worried! I mean, there were computer songs on the first three albums, but the next three after that don't have any computer songs! So I was so glad to find out that there are computer lyrics here and that there's a full-on song about computers called "Web of Lies."

Edit: Just got to Derek Sherinian's solo. I could recognize his playing a mile away. So great.

i need to start digging into roulette albums. i did for a few of 'em (the highest ranking ones mostly) but i have a backlog of like 30 albums i need to check out on youtube at least augh

was putting it off until the album order i made earlier today since i already had more than enough stuff to fill that up (ended up getting like 18 albums at once rip wallet)

I had no idea that this was out! I'll need a few more listens to tell whether this is as good as Heart of Oak, but I'm certainly enjoying it a lot on my first listen.

This album is one of the most beautiful things ever. Don't leave it with just one listen, it gets better and better.

Just stealing this from you guys

Good first impression, though the heavy more traditional TDEP songs still resonate with me the most. Could have done without "Fugue" though, completely pointless track imo.
people on this board are actual music fans who developed taste in music and not casual listeners who are following current fashion trends and listening to only current commercial hits.

Solstafir are quite roughshod, their vocalist is all over the place, but it works for me for some reason. It juxtaposes with the whole majestic post-rock sound in an interesting way.

Half way through and I'm not minding this at all, but I don't like how regressive it sounds. I loved the direction they took for In Rolling Waves but this new one sounds a lot more like Passive Me, Aggressive You - with it being much too similar at times. I can see this being somewhat of a grower but I'm still disappointed that they made this instead of making a true follow-up to In Rolling Waves, moving forward from that style instead of going backwards.

Extremely underrated records, they're both awesome. These guys were an amazing band, it's a shame they never got the success they deserved.

Neurosis generally bores me but Solstafir is pretty great, Kold is probably the album I like the most but there are some stellar tracks on Svartir too
