wouldn't say this is boring necessarily, but it doesn't really do much for me at all. it's just too focused on being technical and fails to really grab me in any way

but it's fine enough, i guess, just, won't be revisiting it for sure

i dunno. this just doesn't stand out to me in any real way, still. what bilateral and the congregation both have that i like a lot is groove, which is a bit lacking here. i guess, this feels more emotionally charged than bilateral? i mean maybe it is, i dunno, only the second time i've listened to this so...

also physical copies look crazy impossible to actually get, so  :lol

dunno why this particular album has been on my watch later list for a while but there it is
uhh

it made for okay background music, but i had a hard time getting much at all out of this, stopped it halfway through tbh

Uh yeah that would be a re-recording of their debut album (Wish I Could Dream It Again..), alas their worst album. Tbh Classica Materia and The Blue are the best

interesting, but not sure if it'd have a lot of staying power for me;
also, i couldn't even find the whole album, just parts of it, but they seemed cool
the cd itself seems really hard to find for a reasonable price though

you and me both

The Golden Hair cover was fantastic but that's just not the kind of music they play themselves apparently

had this on in the background doing something else but kinda noticed... it's not very diverse.
and when you have 17 tracks on your album, it should at least be a bit more diverse.
listened to like 10-11 tracks then skipped to the last one, the last track was interesting i suppose, pretty different
dunno if i'd pick up this album though :/

Only Surface Flames and Pyre are really different from the other tracks which are mostly kind of straight up catchy rock songs with some interesting parts I think, really good ones though.

I checked it out once or twice I think. It's a bit samey and I feel like they stuffed in too many tracks on the album, but it's still a sound I like so I'm enjoying. The second NM song you sent Parama was really good as well.

It's very much the Aussie pub rock sound...........if an average AC/DC record appeals then it's worth a listen.  I can't see myself returning to it often (if at all) but I'm not skipping tracks either.  Solid album ( 80% rating) , but that's about it.

Very well produced too btw.

What did you think?

I thought it was interesting. I've never listened to a note of his music, though I have watched a couple of live videos on YT.
I had Spotify open the other day, so I thought I'd dial it up.
It was listenable for sure. Each track seemed to have a similar vibe, it's no wonder why it's titled Transcendence.

I thought the drumming was excellent. Pretty sure not all of his albums sound like this, right? Not sure when I'd ever listen to it again, though.

I agree about the vibe.  Also, I can only take that wall of sound thing in small doses.  Hearing it for a whole album is mind-numbing.

I actually saw someone in my store last week wearing a Psychotic Supper shirt. I think I'm going to spin that tomorrow. Great album.
