It's fucking beautiful :metal also very pleasing to listen to with all those ~1 minute intermissions, really feels like one big piece.
people on this board are actual music fans who developed taste in music and not casual listeners who are following current fashion trends and listening to only current commercial hits.

cult of luna: hmmm. not feeling this one nearly as much as somewhere along the highway. it's fine but doesn't have the quirkiness of the follow up and isn't really as interesting. it's too long too, for sure
ephel duath: this album has an interesting sound but thus far i'm having trouble really getting too into it or finding much of it memorable. but it might just need more listens since it's kind of... a lot, even for as short an album as it is
sigh: yeah, this is pretty cool. one or two tracks that maybe feel redundant, especially since the extended version i have is looong, but there's a lot here i quite like, though i wouldn't say i love it yet either

how is the other cobalt album there that isn't slow forever. i've heard their previous works are actually better and i liked slow forever a good bit to begin with but physical copies seem to be crazy expensive

I like Gin much more than Slow Forever, but granted, I have only listened to both once so far. Not sure my recommendation means much at this point.  :lol

But, Gin hit me much harder. Lots of good songs there while Slow Forever just seemed a bit more bloated and needlessly overlong at points. I like the vocals on Slow Forever more though, the ones on Gin are much... rougher, but I stopped noticing by about the 2nd or 3rd track. They fit the music so it wasn't a big deal.

will agree that slow forever is a bit long, yeah. not diverse enough to support its length but it's a unique enough sound that i still enjoy it plenty
edit: wow okay what, sometime in the last two months they must have rereleased gin or something because suddenly it exists for plenty reasonable prices everywhere. okay. might look into getting it then  :lol
edit2: their bandcamp actually has a great deal on all their stuff? wow. damn. will spin their previous two and see which i wanna go for first then  :lol

Yes, alphabetically. Trying to do that thing where I listen to all of my music in one year and the best way to keep track of what I've listened to is to go alphabetically. I'm way, way behind. No idea if I'll even get close to finishing.  :lol

Yup, I agree. And that's saying a lot, because there's been quite a bit of awesome music this year.

Only time will tell if this beats Murder Ballads as my favourite Nick Cave album, but it's already sitting at #2 very comfortably, and I've only known it for a week. Distant Sky might be the most beautiful song that I have heard this year.
