I may know little to nothing about jazz, but these guys are just awesome. Fantastic mix of originals and covers of modern classics, like James Blake's Limit to Your Love (yes, this is a cover of his cover). Excellent stuff.

Really loving this album! Reminds me a little of Coldplay's Parachutes at times, albeit a little heavier at times.

Bet you'll love "All The Wars", has a bit of a Karnivool sound to it aswell, especially the first few songs.

Awesome album, currently starting "White Flag", haven't even touched The Ghost Of Home yet which is supposedly one of the standouts :metal

the mystery of the followup:

thy catafalque - i don't see how people are saying this is just them doing the same thing. the playful electronics that categorized the previous two albums are all but gone here, there's a real cinematic feel to this album and i love it. the few repeated motifs, the palindromic structure, the wonderful opener and closer and the two adventurous, metal-focused epics. this is probably not their best but i still like it a lot. all four of the albums i have from them are pretty great tho.

added to the rotation this week:

Never heard of em before.
That was an interesting listen. Thanx.

No worries, they're a kind of progressive ska punk, or at least some of their albums are

Pendragon - Passion

I must admit that it's taken me longer to get into this Pendragon album than the other four I own. The only passage that gripped me instantly on first listen (about a year ago) was the awesome driving instrumental at the end of This Green and Pleasant Land. The album is definitely growing on me though.

Redemption - The Art Of Loss

I've been in a prog metal mood this week, with Redemption, Fates Warning, and Pain of Salvation in heavy rotation.
Zydar is my new hero.  I just laughed so hard I nearly shat.

I don't have all their stuff but those that I do all have some good stuff .   Try Temples of Gold , Don't Talk Science and You Bought It - You Name It.

This is a solid live album too with fantastic sound , although it sounds a bit too good .
