That Wolverine album is pretty damn awesome. A tad on the samey side, but every song individually is awesome.

The Great Escape is damn awesome.

425, what do you think of The Angelmaker and King of Whitewater? They are easily my #2 and #3 on the album, far ahead of any of the other tracks (though the epic is still #1 for sheer scope and... epicness, I guess).

Honestly, those two just refuse to click for me, particularly King of Whitewater. I guess I've listened to them about 4 times now, and while there are parts that I like, I just don't have any strong feelings about either one of them. I'm sure they'll get more listens down the road, because I love the epic, I really like Wiseman and Alley Cat, and I think Long Way Home and Move On Through are solid, so maybe those two will click for me. But right now, I can't say I particularly care for them beyond "yeah, this is a decent song I guess." :-\

Definitely don't give up on them! I think Long Way Home is the only song on the album that I don't particularly care for, it's just a little too cheesy for my tastes.

One thing that I really appreciate on the album is how audible and interesting the bass is. That bass solo in Move on Through is such a cool moment.

I won't give up on them! Because there's so much else on the album that I like, they'll definitely get more spins.

Yeah, there is a lot of nice bass on this one. That bass solo, plus, the bass and keyboards trading leads in the last part of The Great Escape.

Must admit I prefer this over all of the Ayreon albums I have (THE, ITEC, 01011001). I know they get a lot of praise around here but I just don't get it. Maybe one day they will click. I think as all the albums I own are double albums I find them hard to digest fully. That could be it.

Not a big fan of the album, but FUCK that is an amazing cover. Since I so rarely listen to the music, I often forget how stunning the art is.

Oh yeah. I've had this band on my list to check out for quite a while, I'll see if I get to it in time but that's one amazing cover.

First time listening to the Katatonia and Headspace albums today. Katatonia was amazing, Headspace not as good as IAA but I loved that record, Poluted Alcohol is :hefdaddy though, so beautiful.

I just recently got that one, I've only listened to it twice so far. I like it, though it seems a little rough around the edges like any debut. I think it's interesting how young Claudio sounds on this one.

Saosin - Along The Shadow.

Boi do I love new Saosin. I think it's a very consistent album, but it needs some time to sink in.
I feel strangely honored to be following up a post from Sir Walrus Cauliflower.

It has a flawless first 5 song run, then kinda starts to lack consistence after it. But it's still amazing for a debut.

I'd lost interest in these guys for the last number of years, after More Than You Think You Are, which I didn't really like at all.

I found out last week that they'd released an album in 2012, so decided to give it a go. Sounds ok so far..

Basal Ganglia is such a stellar album. I'm not into instrumental music much, but AAL and Mestis just does it for me for some reason. The name kinda pisses me off though, my anatomy exam is close.  :lol
