Anthrax- Stomp 442

This is my favorite Anthrax album. I cannot explain how much I love this album. John Bush  :metal

Why though? Legitimately asking, why is 442 your favourite Anthrax album? For me it's one of my least favourite albums period.

A bit of a long story. Check your PM's.
would have thought the same thing but seeing the OP was TAC i immediately thought Maiden or DT related
Winger Theater Forums........or WTF.  ;D
TAC got a higher score than me in the electronic round? Honestly, can I just drop out now? :lol

If memory serves correct the Narnia was in the Best of 2016 podcast Paul.......if you checked that out then you have likely heard a track.

Then I have heard one song 😀

Spock's Beard: X

I've been listening to a lot of SB lately. I just realised the other day that I haven't bought a SB album since October 2015. I need to rectify that soon.

Now I've finished ranking all the 2017 albums I listened to, I'm back to checking out other stuff:

Hypno5e - Wasn't entirely sure what to expect going into this but I admit I was pretty underwhelmed. I have at least one other album by them on my list to check out so we'll see if that one leaves a better impression.

Spiritual Beggars - This was fine. I've been meaning to check these guys out for literally years. I was pretty big into Arch Enemy when I found out Michael Amott played in this band. I think I would've been way more into this, had I heard it like 10 years ago. It wasn't bad by any means.

And So I Watch You From Afar - This was really good. I'll admit I was quite disappointed with their latest. I'd only heard their first album and latest, before diving into this. It's got a good mix of what I liked about their debut but is much more polished. Looking forward to giving this another spin.

Saosin - Heard about these guys years ago but never did get around to listening to an album. I remembered them last year thought I'd add them to the list. I was thinking I may like this more than I did. It needs more listens definitely.

Really awesome album.... they also did one back in 2010 called Thin Ice Crawling that is really good to although Of Clans and Clones and Clowns top it a bit...

Bought both albums as CDs plus download from their bandcamp.  Waiting for the CDs to arrive...

They completed and released the video for The Aral Sea trilogy some days ago.

It has some fascinating and beautiful photography and the music is great... so anyone who has 20 minutes to spare:

I don't really listen to power metal much these days, however, I listened to these two beasts today. These have got to be two of the best power metal albums I've heard in years! Damn!

Tal Wilkenfeld - Transformation
I just don't understand what they were trying to achieve with any part of the song, either individually or as a whole. You know what? It's the Platypus of Dream Theater songs. That bill doesn't go with that tail, or that strange little furry body, or those webbed feet, and oh god why does it have venomous spurs!? And then you find out it lays eggs too. The difference is that the Platypus is somehow functional despite being a crazy mishmash or leftover animal pieces

aquilus: this is way too long. it's also not that great active listening music but it's pretty solid as background music? i dunno i wish the balance of orchestral stuff to black metal was leaned more in favorite of the metal, especially since there are a lot of nice crunchy riffs in the metal bits while a lot of the piano work really blends together. i sort of lose track of where i am in the album a lot though because, again, 80 minutes
chaos divine: yeah i knew this was gonna be good and surprise, it's pretty good. not mindblowingly good but the songs are all enjoyable & the level of technicality is satisfying too. i think the closer might be the weakest actually, i dunno, it feels a bit stretched thin. but it's all good stuff so really whatever
glassjaw: man yeah this is good. i think the only song i'm kinda meh on is track 5 but the rest is good. aside from the two i was sent in my roulette, tracks 6, 7, 9 (aside from the announcer bit) and 10 are all damn great & the rest doesn't slack either. probably some of the angriest music i've enjoyed but it's got both power and strong hooks to it who am i to complain

Magic Pie: The Suffering Joy

First spin of this album, after finally picking it up today. I absolutely love A Life's Work, the 24-minute opener. Norwegian prog band with a heavy guitar-driven edge to them.
