Seven out of ten songs on the album received at least one vote in the first round here, but Bring Your Daughter... To the Slaughter still managed to get 50% of the vote. It will easily be eliminated first.

Alright, this was the right one to go first. And if I can take a song not getting a single vote in the first round as any indication of future success, I can expect to be pleased with the results of this survivor. To me, getting rid of BYDTTS was a matter of removing a song that isn't great and is a bit distasteful. Now it's a matter of just removing a song that isn't great. "Silly" might be a better adjective, though, like most of this album, it remains fun.

I've never had any trouble with Bring your daughter. It's not a great song (none of these are, actually), but it's still good.

I am impressed... about people voting The Assassin.. The chorus is pretty good.. My brother used to love that song..

And really?.. No one dislikes Fates Warning?..

And still my vote goes against Hooks in You, crass sexual jokes about being hung to the ceiling do not belong with Iron Maiden.

Yeah, I see the point.. There are a lot of songs to dislike in this album..

Funny thing: talking about family, my father (who fortunately introduced me to such band) totally loves this album.. He always say this was the first album (cassette) he ever bought; he used his first tape deck with NPftD and it was not but until a couple of weeks later that he got his second cassette, because those were his holidays.. So those long days he listened to nothing but this record..

He'd be like :omg: :blush if he knows the general opinion about this album.. :lol

I think my Top 3 on this album (No Prayer, Run Silent Run Deep and Mother Russia) are amazing and definitely up there with some of the best stuff that Maiden has written. It's just that so much of this album ranges from bad to mediocre.

Though I still like this album better than Fear of the Dark.

Those three are solid songs, I don't think they are up there with the best of IM though, but definitely good songs and the best on this album IMO.
