Like I've said before, she is a full time employee that gets paid for the holiday, the Pharmacy is closed and she has to work up front. They give the part time employees time off but not the full timer that is paid for the day and her department is closed? Yeah, I'm pissed.

I'm working today, leaving early for a doc appt., drinking tonight, probably finishing the remnants of tonight's last drink tomorrow morning, dragging myself to work, leaving at 11:30, and not coming back until 1/3. Boom.

Somewhere in there, we're traveling to VA for a few days.

Doing a one off catering gig 6:00 pm Christmas Day for $500 cash....do it every year. Good money and lots of fun.

Is it once a year because it's a special meal that is your specialty, or is just a Christmas thing?

G'morning all. Last day in the office this week, then working from home tomorrow. Off on Monday and then working from home on a very light day Tuesday (lots of European clients observing Boxing Day).

I used to be in the restaurant biz many years ago and worked with a pretty well known chef, both from and back of house. Years later he still asks me to do catering gigs with him 4-5 times a year. We do to private homes, very wealthy people or celebs, and do a full sit down meal. Usually several courses. I get to have fun, and make good cabbage. Usually pays for our yearly Disney trip.
One family always does a Christmas meal and we do different menu each year.

I don't do it very often because I'm so much less productive when I'm working remote, but it's a nice option to have when it'd be convenient to not have to deal with my commute. I basically only work from home when there's inclement weather messing with the trains or if I want/need to be home for some evening plans earlier than I could ever get home from the office.

Yeah if I was working from home regularly I'd probably have more of a routine to help improve my productivity, but I'm only working from home a handful of days every year. It is nice though to be able to sleep in and get stuff done around the house during the workday, and then skip the commute home.

The one thing I like about shift work is that I can do all my errands during the week when alot of people are working. Avoid the weekend rush.

Yeah, that's one thing I miss about working at a restaurant was the schedule flexibility. I always had Mondays off and usually it was a quiet day with the house to myself, and then if there was stuff going on during the day on a weekday I could often finagle my schedule to have off.

Last year for Santa photos we did the whole waiting in line bullshit for nearly 2 hours. This year, we decided to just do it last night. Went online, made a reservation, paid, walked up, got pics, and left...In 5 minutes. Easiest shit ever.
