So I got a message from my manager this morning before work.  Our office building is slightly flooded. Apparently a janitor left the water on in the third floor bathroom last night.  Much damage, office closed.

Today was supposed to be our Christmas luncheon with a gourmet meal, and the meeting rooms downstairs were already set up and decorated.

Janitor fired.

I mean, a flood is a massive issue. Not only damgae to contents, but depending on the nature, location, and structure of the building, it could be severe construction damage as well. It's pretty basic. I imagine something of that sort wouldn't need repeat offenses to get terminated.

Speaking of Laundry...

Went to the Launderette at long last - i had a pile of washing to do but I can just never be bothered.

I always go at about 6pm as it's usually empty.

I was half way into a wash when the owner said they actually closed 30 mins ago and I wouldn't be able to use the dryer.

So i had to take two bags of laundry home and hang them over radiators in my flat

Oh well. Saved myself £2 on drying I suppose...

It's £5 a time in total but I only ever go like once a month and hand wash stuff and hang it up at home for work stuff.

It's actually 13.5 working hours I have left, not 12.5.

Back at work today.  Dehumidifiers and industrial fans in the hallways/common areas, but my actual desk area was spared the flooding, so that's good.

Back at work after being in paradise last week and I am not feeling motivated at all, especially since it's just 4 days this week then off till the 3rd. 

Also, I finally joined Amazon prime recently, and finished all my holiday shopping without leaving my seat including buying the gift wrap and all that stuff so later this week I will put it all together and be done with it, but got to say, this was the easiest shopping I've ever done.  The only thing I purchased in store was cards since those I need to read through the find the funny ones.

I always end up doing the bulk of my shopping in person due to leaving it too late to guarantee shipping in time, and also having no idea what to get people and just winging it. I bought for all but one person in stores within a day. The other person I'd already bought for online.

I'm just glad I only shop for a handful of people and they're mostly easy to shop for. My parents both never want anything besides gift cards, my sister is taking a student loan payment in lieu of a present, and my mom does my shopping for my goddaughter. Just leaves my one cousin who I exchange gifts with and he usually gets a bottle of nice beer from my stash.

I basically only shop for immediate family; my parents (also usually gift cards because they're difficult), brother and two sisters, and my older sister's kid. That's it. I don't even get anything for my sister's husband. I don't like him, I'm not spending money on him.

Same here. No Aunties, Uncles, Cousins, Nephews etc.. Just Step-mum, Dad, bros, Sis. Grandad. End of.

I only shop for my nephew and my four nieces. They're in their teens so they only want gift cards or cash. Pretty easy every year

Yea pretty much the same with me except we do a secret santa with the cousins so immediately family +1 and I did get something small for the girl I've been dating for some time now.  So my shopping is pretty easy too.  I did get my father tickets for the last Rangers game of the season, against the Penguins which should (given they are currently 1 and 2 in the division) have playoff impact.

Much warmer weather today too, only -2 c, it feels like summer.
