One time I went to put air in my tyres and there was a 20p left on the machine. So Now I do that now If I have a spare 20p on me


I like the idea of someone pulling up to fill up their tyres and they don't have 20p on them and then they find one right there on top.

I can work my way back in to my old job... There's always work there. I wouldn't have what I had before for a schedule, but I could work back into a decent schedule. Plus I have a friend who is an account manager for another security company who will hire me in a  heartbeat.  He's actually been trying to get me to work weekends with him. Also he had mentioned a possible supervisor job with him in the future. So there is work out there. Just going to have to go back to working a lot more (105 hour pay periods in my old job vs 80 hours in current job) to make a decent amount.. But the stress levels will be so much lower.

Hey people.

Just got back from being a participant in a study on alcohol and its effect on the mental capacities of people. Sadly, there was nothing to drink, only being pushed into MRI scanner for about an hour and a half, which isn't much fun. I did, however, get some money for participating, so it's all good.

Nope, it's less about how the consumption of alcohol affects you mentally than the mental confrontation. I had to do some simple tasks in the MRI (nothing really arduous, mostly stuff about memorisation of certain pictures etc.) and they basically had me do them once in a vacuum and once while plastering the background behind the tasks with pictures of beer and/or playing the sound of beer being poured into a glass over headphones. I'm pretty sure that that had no effect on my ability to solve the problems, but I'm not really a heavy drinker so that was to be expected.

There's also a sister study where you're injected a certain amount of alcohol directly into the bloodstream and you do stuff while under a controlled alcoholic influence, but I think that it uses different test subjects.

Aside from the headache that I had after coming out of the MRI, I'm inclined to agree. There are definitely worse ways to make 10€/hour.

This weekend, I had a 10% ABV IPA, brewed in house at the local pizza place (Al's/Pizza Boy Brewing) called Frontside Lipslide.  It was awesome.

I didn't used to be.  Something happened.  I don't know what, but for some reason, something about the taste grew on me and I started enjoying them.

As to why not, I don't drink beer for the alcohol primarily, but for the refreshing beer taste. And a lot of that taste was just drowned in the high alcoholic content. I mean, if I want to get shitfaced, I'll go for Vodka, not beer.

IPAs are definitely an acquired taste. I remember having a visceral, negative reaction the first time I tried a hoppy offering from Stone, and now I love me a good IPA/IIPA.

Fair enough. I drink everything from nice refreshing 3% ABV beers that I can down a pint at a time, to big 18% imperial stouts that I can sip on over an hour or two. A well made 10% beer shouldn't be too boozy fresh, but much more than that and they definitely benefit from a little timr to mellow out.
