I'm relieved that I do, worn out after NYE->NYD brunch->Jets game->Dinner at aunt/uncle's yesterday. About to start my first brewday of 2017 and then off to a Devils game tonight.

I mean I can't really complain about it because I had 12 days off. I don't think I'd be happy going back to work on any day. But it is nice to not have to dive into the deep end at top speed to keep up on the first moments back.

Our boss always has schemes so that even when she gifts us things, she also takes away.

In this case, there was an attendance goal she wanted us to reach for future Summits that was astronomical and not really feasible, so of course we feel slightly short. Not wanting to totall shaft us on holiday time, she "compromised" with us by observing Christmas on the 26th, as the world did, and observing New Years FRIDAY, as the world DIDN'T. She then closed the office Tues, Wed, and Thurs in between those two days. Tradeoff, office reopens today instead of tomorrow.
I just tacked on 3 days of personal time to the beginning of the holiday to give myself more time.

So while I shouldn't really be at all bothered by it, she still managed to get a little dig in there.

Morning. I was coughing so much from the nasal drip yesterday I was holding my head in pain while coughing. Felling a little better. I need to dry my nasal passages. Got meds and feeling ok this morning. I used a neddi pod (sp?) and steamed last night.

How did the Neti work for you? My wife keeps telling me it does help, but I really don't like the idea of the whole dip your head forward and pour water up your nose deal. I know how it works but still.

I am curious about that Navage contraption that supposedly takes away the mess and uses suction instead of the pour to work. I'd be willing to give that a shot, but the kit that Amazon sells (which comes with a bunch of starter things like salt pods, etc) runs $99.95, and that's quite pricey.

Also, it's only been two days, but I'm fucking sick of the rain. I want some sunshine.

It works. It is a little weird but you get used to it. Just have tissues ready with all the junk that comes out. It you see color in your mucus you know you have a sinus infection.

Everyone at work is bugging me to sign onto Skype so they can just shoot me a message if they are having a problem with their computer. I don't because I prefer to be called on my phone .

I just hate how you can create a username with your email address....and then that becomes your live handle, and you can't change it. So your email address becomes what you give out to people and it's like wtf about privacy. You can't even create an alias over top of it to hide it.

MSN Messenger had the best emoticons. They were just perfect, funny and classic. When it became Windows Live Messenger and they re-designed all the emoticons. I hated it.

It was the beginning of the end. Then Skype took it over and Skype sucks hard.

Honestly, I love facebook messenger now. Video chat works well, they have filters like snapchat, group chatting is great, giffy support and stickers. I try to convince people to stop texting me and just facebook chat me which works well internationally too, but a lot of people don't seem to like it and it seems to be because it's part of facebook which I get is annoying, but the chat app is really fantastic IMO.

Actually what happened was Microsoft took Skype over, merged Live into it and dissolved Live into Skype.

I use FB messenger when appropriate and it acts as a good universal mobile messenger. I do still prefer standalone chat programs on a desktop, but eh.

My friends use telegram, which is really similar to facebook chat, but since a couple frineds dont have facebook, this allowed them to join the group chat. It's really nice too and has a desktop app that works well. I just hate how I have so many different chat apps, not that I am popular, but because different people use different apps. My coworkers use whatsapp which is also exactly the same as FB chat (it's even owned by facebook).

I still mostly text, with a smattering of Facebook messenger contacts. I know no one who uses WhatsApp or any other specific app. And Google has simply shit the bed with Allo.
