Okay so here is what has been the past weekend...

Friday after work, loaded up the car, piled the kids and dog into the van and drove to my condo at the beach. Arrived around midnight (after several requisite pitstops for food, etc.), got the kids into bed, unloaded the car and crashed for the night.

Saturday was actually a chill day. Woke up, got everyone ready, went out to breakfast, came back to the room and just basically crashed for the rest of the day. Went out to dinner at the most incredible Italian restaurant I've ever frequented, where the owner knows me and my family and treats us like royalty. One of the best meals ever.

Sunday, up early. This day was the reason we were there. My wife is holding these paint get-togethers (like Paint Nite). She has a partner who is a close friend and they have been scheduling these events at local restaurants and gaining popularity. Now, this was hosted at a restaurant in a huge retirement community that was SUPPOSED to be in Dewey Beach, which is roughly 8 miles from my Condo in Bethany. Turns out, it's actually in Millsboro, which in contrast is 30 miles away. So that's a shitton more driving than I expected, but all went well. After the paint event we loaded the car back up and drove home, getting in around 10:30pm. Got the kids to bed, unloaded the car and fucking collapsed.

Good morning MONDAY! *sigh* Eventful and productive weekend. Can I have another one to recover?

I'm really looking forward to going back down in June/July. For a real vacation.

My vacation last year was ruined by my getting laid off literally 2 days before my scheduled time off. Even though it was a busy weekend, being back down there after the layoff this time with a job was a huge weight off my shoulders.

So I think I finally figured out my work plan when I start this new job. I'll be working Mon-Fri with the County... And Sunday mornings with my current job, also filling in when and where I can. It works because I still can work the Moose Lodge on Saturdays... And on Sundays I'll be retaining my pay and most of the perks of being a supervisor and treated as a lead when there's not another on, with the basically shift responsibilities of a lead, but when I clock out... I'm off. I don't have to deal with all the other shit.

The Sunday thing is only for a few months.

Then filler status.

I just need to hold a place while I go through my probationary period... because if I don't make it I need a plan B.

yea I have to echo this. I worked two jobs once for half a year, I was essentially a robot at the end who was tired all the time.

Yep. My wife and I are very burnt. We both work two jobs. Jobs we love but are very mentally draining... Plus all the driving...

I took a week off back in March. I get a few weeks off a year but i only really take one week with days off here and there. That doesn't help with burnout.

I was at the Score show. Great show. Bad day for me. I think I've mentioned this before, though. I was so hopped up on pain meds just so I could make it to the show. It's why I didn't drink at the meetup. Barring some unforeseen incident, I'll be in much better shape for this weekend's festivities.
