So my wife has strep pretty bad. What is the likelihood of me getting it? We weren't like sucking face before she got it, but still; I want to give myself peace of mind because right now every little throat tickle I get I start freaking out that I'm getting it

Prog Snob

It's contagious so be careful.

hefdaddy42

Yeah, don't get any closer than you have to, but you won't necessarily get it.

Keep your distance. Its easy to get

Echoing what everyone else said. Keep your distance.

Else... I'll admit at first glance I thought this thread was titled "Deep Throat".

Married to a teacher, so we've had years of experience.

Sleep in another room.  Don't share utensils.  Do the cooking.  Wash your hands after touching door knobs, plates, faucets, etc.

It's not the plague....but treat it that way.  Oh, and have some porn at the ready for a couple of lonely nights.

Wash your hands a ton. Keep your distance. Take your vitamins. If you didn't catch it before she was symptomatic you probably won't now that you're aware of it. The problem is that most things are contagious before you show any symptoms.

See that's what I'm worried about. So far I'm not having any symptoms, but I have a concert Sunday so I'm praying I don't get sick.

Yeah, just keep being like the TV character Monk. Wash your hands and sanitize surfaces around the house. Hope your wife feels better and you stay healthy.

God, this past week--starting last Sunday night, I had a tickle in my throat. Monday morning I wake up with a fever, muscle aches, chills, chest congestion, a stuffy nose, headache, you name it. I took cold medication and by Tuesday the fever had subsided and I was getting out of bed. Wednesday I'm having trouble breathing, but I'm able to get through my day. It wasn't until Saturday that my cough, sore throat, and congestion was gone. It was just a horrible week. I went to the doctor on Friday just to make sure it wasn't anything else and they told me it was just a really bad cold. They did a strep test too, just to be sure. I felt like death for three days.... It's going around here in Minnesota. A guy at work got strep and bronchitis.

Yeah. I still haven't gotten anything so that leads me to believe everything is a-OK. The wife washed all the towels and bedding so hopefully it's not going to spread.
