do we win anything if we solve our own entry?  :lol

But the other participants don't know if you solve your own entry, depends if you can disguise it well enough.

Nobody will be solving mine from that list - it has disappeared (or gained a face)  ;D

Must be a gremlin in the system.

I'll post the whole song titles tonight.

Having a hard time with this round, a lot of variety but nothing really weak at all, but at the same time, nothing as strong as the winners in the first two rounds at this stage.

With nearly 2 hours of music, it might be a couple more days for results.  I don't want to do any injustice to the longer songs.

Anyway, I know you guys like the tidbits thing, and I've been lazy by not doing them.  Here's some thoughts.  These probably won't be taken from the writeups as I'm nowhere near at that stage, but some thoughts for you all to ponder;

Right up my alley, really honed in on my style here, should score well.

This chorus at first I wasn't too keen on, but after multiple listens, it's become one of my favs and gets stuck in my head.

This is a smart submission.  A better entry and reminds me heavily of one of my fav bands, especially their older material.  If you've submitted this because of the band I'm thinking of, I'm impressed.

Surprisingly, I really quite like this.  Different but great atmosphere.

Standard stuff here, nothing groundbreaking but the sound of the track is quite monstrous.

I don't know what to think of this one just yet, but the guitar work is bloody amazing.

A good song and nicely done, but getting lost among the other submissions.  Yet the style is something I should really like.

More standard stuff here, and quite catchy and solid, again a bit lost and not up to scratch of some of the other submissions.

Not my preferred style, but the last 2-3 is fucking incredible.

Interesting, but I think I like it.  Quite original to me.

I've checked one song by this band only once and wrote them off, but this song is making me think I need to reconsider.

A grower, but liking what's going on here.  Some great melodies and I think could climb with more listens.

Again, I've heard one song and written them off.  This is solid though and with repeated listens, again perhaps I may reconsider.

As I said, everything here is pretty strong, just songs stand out more than others.  The scoring I think will be tight and keep things tight and interesting in the rankings.

Mine could be about 5 of those - good and not so good. :D

counter-tidbits

1: no (not your style)
2: no (no chorus  :lol)
3: maybe (mostly because of "a better entry" tbh???)
4: maybe? ("surprisingly"  :lol)
5: probably my #1 pick from these ("monstrous")
6: probably not (guitar work is cool but probably not bloody amazing, even imo)
7: maybe
8: maybe
9: no (if anything the last two minutes would prob be your least favorite part i'd think  :lol )
10: no (tbh i don't think it's that "original" to you from a few of the bands i saw on your banned list :P)
11: doubt it (makes it sound like a less obscure band)
12: no (melodies aren't the biggest factor in the song)
13: doubt it (same as 11)

naturally, it's going to end up being one of the ones i marked no

If anyone could even come close to guessing Parama's it'd be me but since he already told me I'll spill the beans: East of the Wall - False Build

Listened to this album like 3 times, the longer the album went on the harder it was to pay attention, but these first few songs were actually really good imo.

No idea which one is mine. It could be #3, and the band you'd be talking about would be early Symphony X. Not sure though.

So much for trying to be positive about an East of the Wall song.

I'll put the song titles up in the morning when I get to work, it's 10:45pm and I have to get up real early to take my car in for a service, plus two new tyres, uuughhh!!  Not gonna be a good day paying an obscene amount of money for shit I can't even see or notice.  Fuckers.

EDIT: Yes, I'm tired and in a bad mood.  Will try and find some time tomorrow to start with the writeups, again, such a tough close round.  You guys are making me work, but I fucking love it!

Hey, Ruslan did the same, only he didn't tell that I told him through PM :lol I don't know, I figured no one in this competition would know East of the Wall and this approach of revealing a part of the title was not much to go on.

That's fair.  I like this kind of feedback, noted.  Didn't think so either when I randomly come up with it.  I'll do something different next round.  Anyway based on that then, I'll post the song titles before I'm off to bed;

The Leading
Brain Death
False Build
Faces of Stone
A Losing Game
Bestia Triumphans
The Stage of Intenstiy
The World Had Two Faces
Falling Snow
Forced Entry
An Ordinary Dream
Earth
Exodus

With nearly 2 hours of music, it might be a couple more days for results.  I don't want to do any injustice to the longer songs.

Was hoping to wake up to results.
