Leprous Survivor 2016: Bilateral - Round 1

The last round of Tall Poppy Syndrome is still ongoing, but practically the winner is White. That song has survived two tiebreakers, one of them at round 2, and at the end it managed to win

Now we're going to rank Bilateral. My god, this will be even harder... It's probably my favourite album of all time: as for Tall Poppy, I know which are my two least favourites, even if my 9th classified is already excellent. Then I don't know what to do, apart not voting Forced Entry till the end. I hope to choose well and not voting the same song until the end like I did on the previous album
My least favourite is the opener, Bilateral

I agree on the opening track. Holy shit, this album will be hell to vote for.
I know my top 3, but everything else is practically just as good.

A lot of good tracks on this album. Really the only track I don't care for is Cryptogenic Desires.

Best Leprous album, without any doubt.. They really did something new, powerful and yet full of memorable melodies and instrumental sections.. I was giving Leprous a final chance by listen to this album, and it was just the right choice.. It blew my mind..

So yeah, I share the thought that it'll be difficult to rank the songs, but, for now, there are two songs that are clearly one step below the rest: one of those is Waste of Air..

I'm probably not as qualified as you guys here as I've only listened to the album three times but the first vote is not very hard for me, gives me some times to listen to it again before the next round.

Gotta be the opener, Bilateral. I like the chorus but the rest of that song isn't doing it for me.

To Train: I can leave open round 2 for 2 days, if you need!

To Evermind: the titletrack is the least special and distinct here: there are many songs with different styles in this album; some complex prog songs as Forced Entry and Painful Detour, some ballads like Mb. Indifferentia and Acquired Taste, short powerful tracks as Restless and Cryptogenic Desires, some extreme metal moments in Thorn and mostly in Waste Of Air, and Mediocrity Wins presents other experiments not present in the rest of the discography. Bilateral is great but not so special with respect to the rest of the album. If you really like that song I think you will appreciate the whole album or at least many songs in it.

Nah it's aight I already have a rough border between top 5 and bottom 5 and it'll go into more detail as we go. My top 2 is pretty much set in stone right now and so are the bottom 2.

Yeah, the title track isn't the best on the album or anything but the amount of votes it's getting already is kinda ridiculous.
Anyways, Cryptogenic Desires is a no-brainer for me.
