As mentioned in the first thread, pick your five favorite songs from this year. Two will advance to the 80s finals.

The ultimate goal: to see what DTF's favorite number 1 song of the 1980s is.

Here we have the choices for 1987.  Many to choose from again.

YOU CAN VOTE FOR FIVE SONGS.

The two U2 songs, Bad, Open Your Heart and You Keep Me Hangin On (yeah, even though it's a cover).

Kinda weak year imo.

Weak year for number 1s. A lot of really popular songs that year did not go to number 1.

Lean on Me - Club Nouveau
With or Without You - U2
I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For - U2
Livin' on a Prayer - Bon Jovi
Bad - Michael Jackson

I Just Died in Your Arms might have made it on a weaker year.

Lean on Me is the standout because I had forgotten about it, but the song is ridiculously feel good.

Livin’ On A Prayer
(I Just) Died In Your Arms Tonight
With Or Without You
Here I Go Again
Mony Mony

The Cutting Crew, Whitesnake and Billy Idol tracks once again show that it's not always the best song of a record that makes a hit and goes to number 1.
Must've been Kwyji sending all the wrong songs.   ;D

This is a bit easier to find 5 songs , but they're all a struggle  :lol

Whitesnake
Bon Jovi
Billy idol
Bob Seger (stuffed up my vote and missed this)
Huey Lewis

The Seger song had a solo in it that as a young budding guitarist impressed me with the whammy bar pyrotechnics - good song anyway and I was a huge Beverly Hills Cop fan too.  Little did i know that it really wasn't very representative of his regular material.

Mony Mony - a few years back I went searching through the studio albums for "that solo" and it took me a while to figure out that the version of that song that I like (live single) didn't make a regular studio album.

Surprising that I wasn't the only person to vote for Heaven is a Place on Earth.

Hef is right on all things. Except for when I disagree with him. In which case he's probably still right.
