Powerslave by continuing to move the band in a more progressive direction. The introduction of synthesizers on this album was controversial to some metal purists in the fanbase, but the guitar synths used here definitely give
Somewhere In Time a unique, futuristic sound—a sound which was unfortunately difficult to recreate live, which is probably why Caught Somewhere In Time never became the live staple it was destined to be. Personally, I think this is one Iron Maiden's more underrated albums. There are several classics here, as well as plenty of quality deep cuts.

I'm going to listen to this album today or tomorrow, but I don't think I need to in order to know how to vote in the first round. I won't submit my vote yet, just in case, but I'll go ahead and note it here. I think this whole album is pretty strong across the board. There are really just two songs that I think are of a significantly lower quality than the rest. One of those is:
