The list of superhero movies I've seen is very short (The Dark Knight, the 3 Spidermans with TG, Thor, The Hulk with Aerosmith's daughter, and The Avengers). I probably liked Daredevil the most. It gets a lot of hate and I don't get why. Is it a shitty movie in general, or is it shitty as far as superhero expectations go?

I don't remember that much from Daredevil, but from what I remember it was OK. That scene at the playground was awful but most of it was OK. It wasn't as bad as Catwoman or the stand-alone Elektra movie, but definitely not something to write home about either.

Daredevil's biggest problem was being too cheesy/corny. I didn't think it was that bad though.

Well, every single one of the films that Marvel Studios has released (the Marvel Cinematic Universe), is way better than that Daredevil film.

As were all three of the Nolan Batman films.

And Man of Steel.

And all of the Spider-Man films.

And most of the X-Men films.

And Green Lantern.

So Daredevil is nothing special. If you want awesome Daredevil, watch the Netflix show.

I was with you right up until this. Wolverine Origins could've (and should've) been way better than Daredevil, but it just failed on so many levels.

Green Lantern was not good, don't get me wrong.

But if I had a choice of rewatching Green Lantern or rewatching Daredevil, I would pick Green Lantern. Reynolds is wrong for the part, but it had a lot of stuff right from the comics, and the effects are decent.

But there is a lot wrong with Daredevil.

I think that is true almost all of the time, but Argo was pretty fantastic. Of course, that was because everything about it was really good, so it didn't require a great performance from the leading actor (regardless of who played it).

Argo was fantastic, but although Affleck was technically the "star", it was really an ensemble piece. The success of the film doesn't rise and fall on his acting performance (although he did a fine job).

Actually he just re-wrote Goyer's script. So how much involvement he had is questionable.

Another fun fact I didn't know until recently is that when they show the credits written by 'person1 AND person2', It means person2 came later and changed person1's original script or made adjustments, etc.. they didn't work on it together. Whereas when they show written by 'person1 & person2' both of them collaborated together when writing the script. I thought that was very intriguing.

I think this was my initial feeling when I first saw it, wait till you get to later episodes. I like season 2 a little more and then 3 had some jaw dropping moments and then I became an obsessed fan during season 4. The earlier seasons are a lot more dialogue driven than others and when you rewatch them those long drawn out spoken scenes make a lot more sense. They give context to a lot of the later stuff and some even is directly related to events coming later. I wasn't a huge fan of the show until much later.

If Game Of Thrones is just the typical "Adult Historical / Fantasy Fictional Drama" i.e nothing but swearing and fucking then you can keep it.

That shit doesn't interest me at all.

I saw a bit of a BBC fictional Roman Era drama and it was literally just fucking or swearing.

It's just hardcore and adult for the sake of it. Yes it's my opinion and preferences but there's too many adult fiction shows like that where everyone acts tough and all sex is super aggressive.

I've read all the GoT books, and TBH it annoys me a little that the, er, scenes you refer to seem to be "amped up" for the TV show. In the books those types of scenes were not as frequent, or as graphic.
I'm not sure there's a need to take it as far as they have.

I can't knock GoT too much though, as it's giving our tourist board something to do these days..
