The project "Virtual Symmetry" was born in 2009, the year in which the composition of some of the first tracks was started by the guitar player, multi-instrumentalist and also founder Valerio Æsir Villa, from whose ideas the first studio album "Message from Eternity" took shape.
Vitrual Symmetry is a progressive metal project, but has various influences that go from ambient, to fusion, pop and contemporary music, and it's characterized by epic suites rich of contrasting elements like wide open, but often sharp, cinematic atmospheres and composed with a particular attention to balance between melody and technique maintaining the aim to lead the listener through a dynamic and emotional journey.
In the "Message from Eternity" tracks (completed in early 2015) there are some very special guests, like the legendary Dream Theater keyboard player Mr. Jordan Rudess and other significant names in the European prog metal scene, for example the singer and producer Alessandro Del Vecchio (Frontiers Records, Edge of forever, Hardline), the guitar player and singer Marco Pastorino (Secret Sphere, Hate Tyler, Temperance) protagonist of every vocal track of the album and the multi-instrumentalist Ruben Paganelli playing piano and saxophone tracks.
All the lyrics were written by Sirio Balmelli with the supervision of Valerio Æsir Villa.
On August 25th 2014 Virtual Symmetry released their first demo track named 'Program Error (we are the virus)', an articulate mini-suite that lasts over 10 minutes, in which there are two keyboard solos by Mr Rudess and a vocal participation by Del Vecchio, who sang a monologue of The Matrix' Agent Smith (a quote the band wanted to put in the track as a tribute to a movie that considerably influenced the message and the philosophy that's at the base of the song).
Their debut album "Message from Eternity" contains seven tracks, characterized by a fine and clean songwriting that's never predicted, full of all the influences that marked the creative path of each band member, and ends with the title track: an epic 23-minute-long suite divided into three chapters.
In this song the band wanted to recap and highlight all the progressive elements of the previous tracks, as to narrate the end of a story, focusing in the epilogue all the passages that made it interesting.
This track, more than the other ones, gives the cinematic factor to the progressive nature of the band, as it has a live orchestra playing in it: Sinfonietta Consonus symphonic orchestra with the conduction of M° Michal Mierzejewsky (A Symphonic Tribute to Prog).
The album will be released on 02.29.2016 and it will feature Mr. Gustavo Sazes as the author of the artworks, already known for his important works in the Prog Metal genre (James Labrie, Amaranthe, Angra and more)."
