Number one, pretty much no contest. There are many bands that I think come close or equal in quality, but don't have the quantity or consistency of material that DT have or I haven't been into them as long.

Until Awake it was a TOP 5.

By the time of Black Clouds, it was like TOP 25, or worse.

Now itīs getting back to position and is TOP 10.  :hat

After listening to The Astonishing, DT unexpectedly raised to TOP 3, overcoming many great bands, past and future...  :metal

I hate ranking bands or albums..

Anyway, they fall somewhere between my top.10 and top.25.

I don't listen to DT nearly as much as i did 10 years ago, but especially the older albums have a special place in my heart!

Easily #1 for me. Number 2 is Iron Maiden. Bands 3-10 shift around depending on my mood/album cycle/etc.

I hesitated for a second and then thought, "who am I kidding, number one for sure."  Neal Morse is second.

I voted "Favorite band". I discovered them in 2005, began liking them in 2006, saw them live in 2008, stopped caring from 2010 to 2012, and since 2013 they are at the top for me.

From all the bands I got into as a teenager, they are the only ones that take artistic risks, put out beautiful/creative music, have a healthy dynamic in the band (and with their fanbase), and work their asses off every year.

For several decades (!) my No. 1 - Jethro Tull / Ian Anderson. Then early Genesis, Yes, Fish era Marillion and his solo work and loads of others.  I am a complete DT newbie, but I can honestly see them being right up there if I got asked this again in 12 months time.
