A whole bunch of really tight games in the 1:00pm kickoffs. Could have quite a few really significant games in Week 17 at this rate.

Had to believe that two months ago, Doug Pederson and Mike Zimmer were two of the leading candidates for Coach of the Year.  The Eagles are still a team with a young coach and rookie QB, so growing pains were to be expected, but the collapse by the Vikings is something very few saw coming.

I can't remember the last time a Broncos/Patriots game was this boring.  Good defense is one thing, but this is just boring, which is magnified by the 1,944 commercials we're gotten.  The NFL product really sucks now.

Both D are playing well.  Makes a boring game.

The Broncos offensive line is disgustingly bad.  That better be Elway's number 1 priority in the offseason.

Wouldn't have mattered.

You could give the Broncos offense another full half of football today and they wouldn't score two touchdowns.

Richard Sherman has turned into the biggest d-bag in the league.  As if becoming a dirty player wasn't bad enough (cheap shotting the kicker in that Buffalo game, and then that dirty hit from behind on Davante Adams last week), now he thinks he can tell the coaches what plays to call on offense.  He is a loud mouthed douche who takes himself way too seriously at this point.
This is not news.  Unfortunately, barring a catastrophic injury to Wilson, Sherman, or another key player, I think they have the #2 seed in the NFC locked up.

Spell check that post there, King.  If they have a birth in the Super Bowl, I think more than a few will be shocked.  :lol

As for them getting a Super Bowl berth, even if they get the #2 seed, it will be a tough road.  Not sure they make it.  And even if they do, the AFC has some solid teams.  We'll see.

So, apparently, somehow, the Panthers still have a 0.0004 % chance of making the playoffs.

* The Redskins (7-5-1) have to lose to Carolina, lose once more AND tie.

* The Panthers (5-8) have to win out, beating the Redskins, Falcons and Buccaneers.

* The Buccaneers (8-6) needs to lose out, to the Saints and Panthers.

* Green Bay (8-6) must lose out, to the Vikings and Lions.

* Minnesota (7-7) must beat the Packers but lose to the Bears.

* The Saints (6-8) need to defeat the Buccaneers, but lose to the Falcons in Week 17.

This will apparently force a four-way tie for 8-8 and the final wild card spot, which the Panthers would win.

That's just ridiculous.  But hey, math is math.

I'm curious whether Chip Kelly survives into next season. I think Trent Baalke is as good as gone, but I'm leaning toward Kelly getting a second season for now. The roster is atrocious, firing someone after one year is never a good look, and I just can't picture the Yorks being okay with paying 3 head coaches at once.

It is but a few things.

1. Butler didn't bring it up first.
2.  3 catches for I think 18 yards.
3.  Why bring this up after a bad loss?

I just don't get it.  It wasn't like Butler initiated this conversation.

3 catches for 48 yards, actually. :P

I think he's probably just very frustrated because so many players are left on the field, largely because the offensive line stinks.  Imagine running routes and being open a lot and not being productive because the QB is on his back by the time you've made your cut and you're open.

Personally, I'm a much bigger fan of Sanders than Thomas right now.  I am sick of Thomas dropping catchable passes.

How many times did Siemian even attempt a pass in Sanders' direction? I don't remember a whole lot... I think someone made a comment about how Butler shut Sanders down and it pissed him off. This is the same offense that scored 13 points against Jacksonville and 10 against Tennessee. It's not exactly the kind of offense that you want to brag about shutting down  :lol They are a mess right now and Elway has a lot of work to do in the off season with both players and coaches.

Sanders has two targets in the first half.  I do remember that.  The patriots had no respect for their run game (nor should they) and basically rolled coverage over the top to make sure Sanders didn't beat them deep with his speed.  And Siemian has obviously been coached to not throw into double coverage, hence Sanders' lack of targets.

You are correct, I just looked it up and it was the Bucs and Raiders that were the last two Super Bowl teams to miss the playoffs the following season. It's only happened 4 times in the "modern era." Well done, Denver and Carolina
