After reading the article about the rules changes, I don't think it effects NE, and it doesn't seem to be a "Patriots" rule. They just did away with the probable notation, and state that if there's any question about a player's availability then he should be listed as questionable.

If I'm not mistaken, the Patriots "questionable" behavior (NOT) was a requirement from the league, because they had been doing exactly the opposite. There were NO players on the list, so the league said something to the effect of "if your players are at all injured, you have to list them". So don't blame the Pats; it's the league's rules.

I honestly just don't think it ever really mattered to anyone. I've always seen it as a joke that the Pats are doing to the league, not really to the teams since I think opposing coaches know better.

It's a way Bill gets to needle the league. In the end it's part of the reason they are on the other 31 owners radar.

A good example of the league continually tinkering pissing off coaches is that they move the kickoffs to the 35 to have more touchbacks to lower the concussion rate, then they new kick off rule this year contradicts all they are are proffesing about players and concussions.

Yeah, and now they start on the 25 YL after touchbacks. Of course, if a player decides to run it out, it will take more effort to get to the 25 YL. Therefore, increasing the possibility of a concussion.

Well I hear Brady will play a little. Sounds like the coach is appeasing him. Jimmy G needs all the Reps since he is the starter for the 1st 4 games.

You won't see a lot of starters. Some held back like Gronk and a ton injured right now.

I want to see Jimmy against the best front 7 in the league.

I'm not sure how much of their "regular season" package they will display tonight, but they are all playing.

And frankly, we have a couple of other DLs and LBs that could start for a lot of other teams. We like our depth particularly in those areas.

As for the Carolina front 7, it's gonna be fun seeing Josh Norman getting exposed in Washington now that he doesn't have front 7 to make him look better than he really is. Don't get me wrong, he is a good corner, but one of the top ones in the NFL? I don't see it.
