yeah but you sent that in a qualifier round you didn't even need to participate in
Fair enough. If the tidbit is about my song though, it's like 1 second and wouldn't even be noticable if it wasn't put in as random as it is here (it's the Ignea song, around the 5 minute mark). I wouldn't dare to really go harsh vocals in this roulette.

Whoever submitted Winter wins.

Tori is banned whenever I do my roulette... That song is powerful for me. Saw her do it live and she started crying in the middle of it.
I don’t know what to put here anymore

I mostly didn’t like the heavy, slow-paced, plodding parts of the song, but in terms of pure utilization of the female singer’s voice, this is among the best tracks of the round.

Without question..mine. Hopefully I stay in the Top 6!
would have thought the same thing but seeing the OP was TAC i immediately thought Maiden or DT related

So, I only know four of the songs on the list, so the tidbits have to fit something.

This is kind of a blend between power metal and some melodic rock I guess, and I found it lacks some edge and probably some heaviness too, kind of like The Chronicles Project song I’ve got earlier. And I wasn’t even sure the vocals were female at times.

Sorry Kade, I think this is Beautiful Sin.  Maggi is great, but she does sometimes sound a little 'butch'.

Yeah, I first thought that too.  I was confident with my submission, but oh well, looks like the gap between me and everyone else might become non existent, if this is the case.  I love the song and album so, no regrets if it is mine.  I would never doubt Maggi isn't a female singing though.

Saying that it could be Fanticide from what I've heard maybe.

Avatarium?

Forgotten Tales. They are awesome and I described them to Ruslan as Kiske Era Helloween with great female vocals. I was so torn between two songs. The one I sent, which is mid tempo, but I prefer the term groovy  ;D, and has a great chorus, and another song that was a bit faster paced, but I didn't think the chorus was as strong. Must've listened to each 20 times.
Oh well..

I'll be surprised if anyone else's song had parts as heavy/plodding as mine.  Of course that is how it is supposed to be, but whatevs.

Gave some songs a spin. To me, the plodding description suits Avatarium the best, because of the word "parts". Forgotten Tales songs plods troughout the entire song (in terms of riffing). And to my ears, the Beatiful Sin song doesn't lack an edge or heavyness, though I can hear the male vocals thing. However, I also think several other songs have parts where the singer almost sounds like a male, to some extent.

Maggi's french accent (which does come through at times) doesn't help her metal singing style sound feminine.  Perhaps part of the reason I love her so much??  Dunno, but her voice gives me a boner.

That album is top-shelf material too.

Going with Sacul's approach for this one. This is awful. Did that song really need to feature that death metal growl?

I think she is just super unique in terms of most female vocalists, and she's very strong too.

The song I sent was from the band Beautiful Sin.

Issa is just a terrible and ugly Frontiers pop vocalist, with no talent or substance.

I can see the more butch side of her singing, but as I said, I wouldn't think it was ever a dude singing.  She's great with Ayreon too.  I wish she did more work.

I'm gonna guess this is mine, I'd put Annie Wilson up against any other female voice out there, then or today. Her version of Stairway to Heaven at the Kennedy Center awards is god tier stuff.

I would struggle to name 10 female rock/metal vocalists whose voices have really appealed to me or impressed me over the years but Anne Wilson would be in that list for sure , and right up there.    Heart seem to really release some rubbish at times but her voice is always  :hefdaddy

You and me (and RJ) both.  Check out her fulfilling the female vocal duties for Old Man and the Spirit when Beyond The Bridge was touring on Youtube.  There's a lot of awesome versions of World of Wonders out there.

Me, had a few other unknown females, as well as being tempted to send Beautiful Sin, but thought I'd take another opportunity to introduce someone to some good old classic American rock.

Anyway, it's only 7 A.M. here, so the results won't be here any time soon. Probably in ~15 hours or so.

Just got back home from work. We're on the usual schedule, I'm going to grab something to eat and start doing the write-ups then. 4-5 hours from now on.

I've listened to your songs all day at work today, and I've found a few songs have grown on me quite a lot. This round could be not that mediocre after all.

I think the emot you're looking for is :lucien:

I'm finding that 1st impressions of music (especially when unimpressed) can improve with multiple listens - especially when you WANT to like the music.  Take The Astonishing for example... it's growing on me.

Oh god. Those of us who needed a great advantage this round will likely not be pleased then. First we could hope to be one of the 2 standouts, but maybe even that won't cut it anymore.

I don't have any delusions of making it past this round, IMO one of my weaker songs. This roulette has been fun so far though :tup
