Sent something I had been saving for your roulette Kade (yes, a "ballad")  - I won't say "don't listen to it" as you won't be able to help yourself when you see who it is ( a duet of two of our favourite singers).   500 physical copies released back in the late 90's , so I wasn't worried about being cockblocked on this one  ;D

Everything is mostly safe, I haven't been checking any of the other submissions in any roulette.  The DGM I stumbled across on youtube a few months ago.  This sounds interesting though, probably will have to check it out now.

I wonder what it could be.  I ain't got a clue to be honest, two fav singers hey?  Could be loads of artists.

EDIT: Nope, wouldn't have a clue.  Wouldn't know where to start.
Everyone else, except Wolfking is wrong.

I shouldn't have opened my mouth and teased  :lol   In the end I probably wouldn't have submitted it in yours Kade (although I had it in your list),  as although the artist (solo) wouldn't have been on your banned list it is a (fairly drastic) reworking of a song you already know from his main band , so it likely wouldn't have been a fair submission/allowed. The song itself is from a Top 30 band of mine and the guy that reworked the song and duets with him happens to also be singer in one of both of our Top 10 bands .  How many singers would be in both of our top ten bands and capable of rewriting a classic metal song in ballad form?

In Evermind's case though the original artist isn't on his banned list either so I am safe.

Well, regarding DGM, I will check out earlier albums and maybe this album too I think, but they will be near the bottom of the check-out list.

About My Soliloquy, I don't know, this song just clicked with me big time.

An 8 is disappointing, I thought that song would fare better with you. :-\

In fact, I was really impressed with your song on my first listen, but it began to lose its appeal on the next few spins. Still, some of the participants never even received anything higher than 8 in my previous roulette, so 8 isn't that bad in my opinion.
This first band is Soen very cool swingy jazz fusion kinda stuff.

Not the greatest round for the Dutch indeed, time to turn it around.

Sent Animals as Leaders. This may or may not become the biggest regret in roulette history but whatever.

Round 2 sent.

Not much thought again haha, but didn't need to.  This song came to mind when I saw ballad and knew I had to send it since this band was not on any of the banned lists.  Even if Ruslan doesn't like, I just couldn't send anything else.

I had to youtube this and saw it was Steel Panther.  This is actually the first I've ever heard of Steel Panther.  :lol  I like the subtle lyrics.

I'm guessing the Here I Go Again verse and solo is intentional.

Well, I have no clue how this one will fare. I don't expect Ruslan to dislike this one, but if a ballad doesn't connect, it can be boring due to their (often) relaxed/slow/subtle nature. I know we share some favourite ballads (from what I have seen) but I also know there are a lot of opposite reactions (last roulette some ballads scored high which I wasn't fond of at all).

Still, if you enjoy this song, this artist definitely has some nice and atmospheric tunes to enjoy.

Anyways, I will send it within a few minutes!

I only need Mason and Chad to start listening at this point. No pressure, since it's not even 24 hours since the results, but the quicker I get them, the earlier I will be able to post pics / tidbits / results.

You'll also get the first blurred pic once all songs are in. ;)

I'm surprised The Paralydium Project scored so poorly in the first round. I thought it was awesome, and the strongest song submitted by wide margin, though I did not sample the In The Silence or Vandroya.

It has made me look at my Round 3 pick and I may have to make a switch.
would have thought the same thing but seeing the OP was TAC i immediately thought Maiden or DT related

Song will be sent shortly - I got sick as shit on my plane ride home Thursday, and spent virtually all of yesterday laid up in bed.  Meds have started to kick in, so naturally, this is the first thing/thread I'm doing this morning.  :)

I'm just impressed I went 6/11 on my predictions.  Erhao... you really should've led with the opening track with Russell on the mic.  That was a very likely contender for me to submit - though, I guess it still could be since DGM isn't banned.     They've got a couple of really sweet ballads.

I too will echo the sentiments of shock that My Soliloquy won, and Paralydium Project was at the bottom.   :omg:  Never would have guessed that.  Tastes!

Protip to everyone - stay away from Italian Power Metal... DGM, Odd Dimension, and Soul Secret all did poorly.  Then again, Absolute Priority did well, so who the hell knows!?!?

This is still very far away and only half of us will make it, but I need to know to adjust my list: The round where we have to send two songs, are they going to be scored completely separate? I have several options of songs that flow into eachother perfectly but I want to know if that's of any use in that round. If not I might use those artists for an open round.

Yes, the songs in Round 7 will be scored completely separately, regardless of the flow or anything.

I have everyone's entries except Mason, but to be fair he warned me he's really busy these days so he may be late with his entries. I'm starting listening to what I have right now, but there's nothing to worry about - I'll give his song a proper amount of spins when I get it.

I'll post the pic when I get his song.

Yes, probably  :P Oh well, I didn't send Trust because I think it is their greatest nor the greatest on it's actual album. I sent it because it was one of those songs that for me had an instant catchy hook and convinced me to give the album a spin initially. Same goes for the Serenity and Threshold songs I sent last roulette, for example.

I recall hearding that Italian promo disc story of his before, so it is probably best to not remind Ruslan of those  :P

Yeah, well. That DGM song was still quite good though.

Anyway, it's time for the first blurred pic! This time it's different, you can see glimpses of bands - maybe recognize yours and a few more - but not the actual songs.

I only regocnize mine, once again. Looks like some of them are singer-songwriters though, which was to be expected for this round.

Also one of them kinda looks like The Kooks but I doubt it.
