This song is a lot of fun. So did he rape her dead body first and then got on with eating that heart he ripped out from her?
Nooo noo you got it all wrong. First he rips her heart out, then eats it, and then continues the rape. I hope "a lot of fun" is enough to get me through  :hat

But in the video he stabs her and rips her heart out first, then he rapes her and then he sits down and eats her heart!

I'm confused.

I think I know what song you sent, ToN :lol

Well I made it pretty obvious  :lol but damn that sucks, I was already planning to send it to you. Do you like it? I especially thought you'd love it.

I honestly have no idea, following the lyrics it seems the other way around, but you could be right.

The gore is both in the lyrics and the video. The whole thing is quite gross to say the least. But there is censorship in the video so you should be fine!

That was my intention. Anyway, try writing the next two lines then. :lol

I'd hate you if you don't like this song
I'd give you bad scores even if you sent a good song in the championship :xbones

just kidding  ::)

I think if you don't like either one of those songs it's pretty safe to say you will never in a thousand years appreciate this band. These are both some of their absolute best, and also my personal #1 and 2.
Also you pretty much 100% gave it away for those who didn't know what song it was  :'(

How about no.

I mean, it's unsingable. "I'd give you bad scores if I had the guts" is a much better line. :lol

Well, since your tastes are pretty much the opposite from mine, I think ToN should be really comforted by this post.

So after all this talk you decided to go ahead and send me djent prog metal with polyrhythms?

So that was too weird then :lol They basically omitted everything that makes "djent" crap, and sparingly combine it with progressive hard rock as an avantgarde element. That album has about fifteen (15) seconds of harsh vocals.

I hate that word anyway, it was originally a joke on palm muting by Meshuggah guitarist Fredrik Thordendal. I chuckled when Kotowboy called the groovy riff in My Last Farewell "djenty".

Yeah, sorry, ToN, but I probably won't have another roulette of my own for a while. Whoever sends it in the championship will have you beat. And by have you beat I mean likely eliminate themselves from contention.

I have a weird definition of djent. I'll look it up from my previous roulette, wait for it... Oh, here it is.

I don’t actually know how exactly djent sounds, but if I hear the weird riff and dislike it, I assume it’s djent, sorry.

I know it's not this song because no one is crazy enough to send death metal but check those lyrics by Bloodbath in song Eaten:
I've had one desire since I was born
To see my body ripped and torn
To see my flesh devoured before my eyes
Only for you , I volunteer as a human sacrifice
Carve me up, slice me apart
Suck my guts and lick my heart
Chop me up, I like to be hurt
Drink my marrow and blood for dessert

And for sake of comedy, check disney version of song :lol

Don't worry about it, just check it out if you're ever interested, though I'm not counting on it by the impression it apparently leaves you  :lol

@Luoto, it doesn't matter if they take all the crap out of the "djent", no matter how good it is, in the end it is about sending djent in an Evermind roulette, or whatever the hell he calls djent.

Yeah, I'm one of those people who does care about lyrics, and if the lyrics are unnecessarily gory or creepy or gross or whatever, that will tank my ability to like the song. That's the main reason why, though I love the album musically, In Absentia will never rank as for me as it does for a lot of people.

What are your feelings about instrumentals Mr Evermind?

Well, I like me a good instrumental sometimes, but it can easily fall flat too. Stream of Consciousness is actually my Top 10 DT song, so there's that. The instrumental should have something memorable for me to like it. I also seem to have a soft spot for non-metal instrumentals, beautiful and folky and acoustic. I seem to like these more.

Send it and find out I guess.

Damn, I can't settle on the amount of people I will eliminate. Each song has at least a few saving graces. I think I might let more people in the second preliminary round than I originally intended.

Results this evening.

I wouldn't let me in if you don't like funky metal instrumentals, I'm a big fan of those and I would almsot surely send something along those lines. :metal
