I'm very surprised that there's actually a name on there that I recognize (apart from my own song), and that's Beardfish, whose music I never even heard. No cock blocks just yet

Tim and Mason are both wrong. Some great tracks/bands in there. I can scratch off a few from my list of possibilities now.

Me too, especially Cloudscape. Had them pegged for round 3.

Alright, I don't think you guys need another less blurred pic, since you pretty much figured out already. I'm heading home now, tidbits are coming tomorrow, and results will be up either Thursday or Friday (more likely).
This first band is Soen very cool swingy jazz fusion kinda stuff.

Oh, Rj... don't forget that it's a ballad-block too.  Just might take another female-fronted band out in Round 2 while I'm at it.

Re: Evermind's Second Roulette v. The heat of endless winters (Tidbits)
« Reply #477 on: February 24, 2016, 11:04:48 AM »
So, here are the tidbits. Can you guess which songs they're related to?

Songs like this one are the main reason I’m taking such a long time posting the results for this round. I want to let the song sink in with its formidable length and all. At this point, I still feel I can’t grasp this song as a whole, so naturally I’m going to give it more chances.

The scores are still subject to change, but I feel this is settled for me more or less. I didn’t intend this to happen at all — I mean, I’m just rating the songs depending on how much I liked them — but this is some kind of (strange) déjà vu going on here.

Is this just me or is there a huge Avantasia vibe in the chorus? I swear, the vocal melodies and rhythm are so much like The Seven Angels outro I’ve found it startling.

I was worried about this, but I must say, I’m glad this isn’t like that Quiet World situation at all.

This… wasn’t what I expected. It doesn’t make it less good though!

For one moment I was afraid since it sounded suspiciously like djent, but this is clearly no djent, but excellent progressive metal instead. The fault is on me — I should’ve known better than to doubt you. Fantastic song!

Oh, and I must say, this is a fantastic round. In fact, it's probably the best round I've had in the roulettes. There are so much good stuff it's incredible.

Could be mine, or The Paralydium Project, which has Lonestar written all over it.

Thinking of the way my song starts..hmm..

Actually it could be TPP too.

Boy, I sure wonder which one is about me :neverusethis: or maybe you're just messing with me like I was in my roulette with that Dire Straits reference which ended up not being about the Knopfler song  :lol
... So I guess I'm getting more than 3.5 points this round?

Anyway I remember listening to the bottom song on the 'blurred list' (don't know whose it was) and remember hearing things that reminded me of djent, so I'm that's what the djent tidbit is about.

Dang, I'm guessing none of these is mine then, or the vague one saying it's not what you expected, which could be anyone's.

Can't wait to cockblock y'all with my ballad.

Ok... prediction time.  Gonna be a shot in the dark with a few, since I don't know much about ToN, Tom, or Erhao... and I know RJ is going deep into the vault.

Vandroya - me.  Pretty sure I got this one right.
Sieges Even - Mason
Black Fate - Brent
Cloudscape - Kade
Odd Dimension - Tim
Beardfish - ToN
Leverage - Big Hath
In The Silence - RJ
Beyond the Black - Tom
DGM - Bolsters
My Soliloquy - Erhao
The Paralydium Project - Seneca

The only comment prediction I have is that the first one is related to the Beardfish song.

Now it's time to go make a playlist and have a run through these - only problem is My Soliloquy ain't on Spotify.

Dammit I wasn't aware of a second Odd Dimension album, only figured it out when I couldn't match the tune to the one I had.
