The choir section that begins with "My brother Gabriel Is all the hope we need" in The Gift of Music
All of The Answer is a little gem, the wow factor kicks in with "Is this the chance to be someone? My moment in the sun?"
Basically all of A Better Life, the verses are great and the chorus, albeit reminiscent of Beyond the Veil, is wonderful, and of course the tearjerking "Evangeline" section
The exchange between the characters in A Saviour in the Square, and when Gabriel comes in "Brother worry not today"
The chorus(es) of When your Time has Come
Act of Faythe: "I have always felt alone / Living like a stranger..." this precise passage for whatever reason gets me so much.
All the general craziness of Three Days (and Lord Nafaryus for that matter)
A Life Left Behind:
"I’ll plan to return well-disguised
Make sure that I’m not recognized
Tomorrow a new sun will rise
And somehow I’ll find you"
And then later:
"You’ll be her shadow as she moves, my son
But she can never know you’re there"
It's one of the songs I like the least, but still has these two great moments.
Ravenskill is a song that took me many listenings to finally appreciate, the whole song is great with its progression from very ethereal (This kind of mellow atmosphere I would expect it from Shadow Gallery, not DT) to more upbeat, but this section takes the prize:
"[Faythe]
My intentions are faithful
There’s a chance we can still end this game
I’d be forever grateful
To see him once again
[Arhys]
You dare to stand
before my eyes!
You’re one of them
Why would I trust you?
[Faythe]
It’s not like that! I can’t go back
Hope fades away with each passing second"
Chosen: the reprise of the chorus in a quiet way at the end is beautiful
The exchange between Daryus and Arhys in A Tempting Offer
Arhys' death in The Path that Divides, the whole passage starting with "You dare defy your prince" and ending with his death with the music marking it very effectively... it really stunned me and made me sad the first time I heard it, I was staring at the lyrics like "...really? he's dead? damn he's dead"
With Losing Faythe I like the only apparent contrast between the uplifting music and the lyrics, it's like Nafaryus & wife reached a placid moment in their desperation that let them see the truly important things in life, this passage from Arabelle is great:
"Look my way, you must be brave
Find the strength to live for one more day"
And also the plea "Gabriel, my son..."
Hymn of a Thousand Voices: "Music has shown her the way / She lives today!" ta-daaan! the babe gets on her feet again, happy ending!
Astonishing: basically from the reprise of the Road to Revolution theme you go into "people this is the big finale" mode and when "People can you hear us" kicks in, in my mind it's all waving arms back and forth at the concert and crying. Wonderful finale, wonderful song, wonderful album.
