I'm in shock. People are going to talk about this game/series for years to come. I've been a fan of this team since I was a kid in the early 80's, and I started to think that I would never get to see this moment. I can barely type. This is amazing!

I'm so happy the Cubs won! They were the best team in baseball this year. They had a better record than any other team. They saw more pitches than any team which led to them being walked more than any other team and only second to Boston in OBP. They were third in runs scored behind Boston and Colorado. This was their year and they deserved it.

Hollywood couldn't have scripted a better ending.  Fucking rain delay with a tie game in the 10th inning of game 7?  The Gods were clearly REALLY reluctant to grant either of these teams a win.

I think the game being at Wrigley and ending in walkoff fashion would have been THE Hollywood ending.  Alas.... homefield advantage was granted to Cleveland via that ridiculous All-Star Game mess.

Last night's game reminded me of Game 6 of the 2011 World Series, in that it was a deeply flawed game - both teams making uncharacteristic blunders - which made it great. I didn't stay up for the end - I went to sleep when the rain delay kicked in because a) it was just after 11 pm, b) sleep apnea makes me tired already, and c) I get up at 6 am for work - but, despite being a longtime Cardinals fans and Cubs mocker , I thought it was cool when I woke up this morning and saw that they had won.  The fans who ruined Bartman's life can go to hell, but this team was great and earned it.  Kudos to them.

I don't either.  He does a good, solid job.  I think he used to be low key back in the day when announcing big moments, but he has gotten a lot better over the years.

For all of y'all baseball watching weirdos, the townsfolk of Arlington just voted to blow a billion dollars on a new stadium for the Rangers. Since I don't live there I'm fine with it. I think indoor baseball fields are goofy as hell, but it's less ugly than Texas heat. I might actually go to 2 games a decade instead of my customary 1 now.

It's Arlington, man. They get off on bad bond deals. I'm actually pretty cool with them pulling this, because better Arlington than Dallas. And keep in mind that most of the money will come from screwing tourists with rental cars and hotels. Doesn't effect me none.
