Really nervous about how these Cubs bats have awaken, even with our best pitchers in the next two games.

Don't let the URL deceive you. The article is about how this won't happen. If Jesus Christ himself is slated to throw out a first pitch, even he should be bumped in order for Vaughn to take the mound.

In Chicago for this whole thing. Might go down to Wrigleyville tomorrow for the game. Definitely planning on going down if they win 3 games in the WS. I want to be in the middle of the chaos when the city explodes. Hopefully anyway...

If they do that meet up with me because I'm definitely there.

Kershaw is done after 5. 9 more outs. Let's go...

Yup. This will only add to his reputation of being a sub par playoff pitcher.

I knew the Dodgers would blow it somehow.  Four postseasons in a row, four disasters.

They didn't blow it. They lost to the heavy favorites. Good grief!

I'm not rooting for one team over the other. Both fan bases have waited a long long time to win a World Series.

It'll be a good story no matter who wins, but the part about the Cubs fans will be nauseating if they win.  This is the same fan base that ran Steve Bartman out of town because their team choked like dogs back in 2003, which was so freaking shameful.  I'd be happy for the Cubs fans here like splent, as well as my niece who is a Cubs fan, but, by and large, Cubs fans are awful.

I'm really glad they won. I watched most of the game. Hendricks was fucking amazing. That one hit...everything else was perfect. Then Chapman came into the game leaving scorched earth behind the ball which turned into trails of tears back the the Dodgers dugout.

Pretty much this. I have a good buddy who is a die hard, graceful Cubs Fan. I will be happy for him (splent) and the likes who really deserve it. I just think there are a lot of bandwagon folk out there that are tainting the fan base a bit.

But, Cleveland isn't going to hand it to them....this series will most likely end up going all 7.

Every team has awful fans.

Your response: "But Cubs fans are worse. (Insert anecdotes that refer to an insignificant percentage of Cubs fans to convince us how awful they are).

There are plenty of bandwagon folks, but the vast majority have watched for a good chunk of not all their lives. I started following them in the '03 season because my entire floor was watching the NLDS (in some ways a band wagoner, although I didn't really watch baseball before then, since growing up we had the brewers who weren't very good save for Yount and Molitor). I have followed since then so I've been through Bartman and the disappointments of the late '00s when admin tried to buy it and failed. First game at Wrigley was '10 two years before Theo. We lost to the Brewers like 15-4. Every game I've been to since then we've won. This city is ready. I plan on being in Wrigleyville when they win.

All fanbases have a certain % of tossers (yes, even your "best fans in baseball")...

Anyway, my ideal outcome is a Cubs win in seven, with Chapman taking a line drive to the temple at some point.  As a Sox fan, I can feel good about Theo/Lester/Lackey wining, or with Francona and the ex-Sox on the Cleveland roster...but the Cubs have suffered longer, and I'm sympathetic to wanting to put that "curse" bullshit to bed.

They fly a white flag with a blue W on it at Wrigley every time the Cubs win.

I love Jon Lester. So I am good with them winning. But I love Terry Francona a little more.

Should be a great series.

It's part of an education outreach program in Chicago. They're trying to prove that not only is baseball fun but you can learn letters as well. Either that or they're thinking about changing the team name to the Wombats next year.

On a serious note, it started in the 40s at Wrigley.  I have noted it on a couple of occasions when visiting the city and seeing it hang from various homes and establishments.  Especially noticeable after attending Wrigley with my wife and friends this year after a 'W'.

'Windy City Wombats' has a nice ring to it :D

Indians have not won the World Series since the 40's. Cleveland has had only one major sports championships in decades. Chicago has had many.
Plus the Indians have the most hilarious politically incorrect hat in all of sports!

Screw the Cubs, let the curse be with you!

I'm actually going for the Cleveland as well. I've never understood why so many people are die hard cubs fans just because they have sucked for so long. By this logic there should thousands of die-hard Browns fans across the country.
